Logfile from Brass&Steel. Zach knocks on the door marked 'Number 4B <4B>'. A woman shouts from nearby, ""C'mon in!"" Terrace Lofts -- Number 4B A large, one-room loft on the fourth floor of the building. To the right of the door is a small kitchen area, with a round, oak table. Around the table sit four well-padded chairs, with tye-dye cushions. To the left of the door is a closet and the door to the bathroom. Straight ahead is the central area. The living room lacks typical furniture, instead there are a multitude of huge pillows in a variety of jewel-like colors, and stools of all shapes and sizes. Art supplies, and art projects in various states of completion dominate the area. Sketches are scattered all over everything. The sleeping area is a small alcove at the far end of the apartment, holding a queen-sized sleigh bed of cherry, a CD player, and a Macintosh personal computer. A nearby bookcase has one shelf of books, one of CDs, and the top shelf is cluttered with framed photos. Posters advertising musicals adorn the walls. Overall, the apartment is in a state of clean disarray. The bed is unmade, and CD cases are in the oddest places, but there's no trash. The only thing in the room that could be said to be scrupulously neat, though, are the art supplies. Their strict order appears to originate from another person entirely. The room smells of flowers, from the numerous filled vases on the table, windowsills, and kitchen counter. Zach opens the door and peeks in. "Heya, Harriet." He smiles a boyish smile to her. Harriet is in the kitchen, with her head stuck in a turkey fryer, muttering to herself. She waves vaguely in the direction of the opening door. "Hey, Zach. Do you know how to work this thing, you know?' Zach walks into the appartment and closes the door behind him. He wanders over to Harriet and looks at the scene. "Um. I wouldn't want to work it while your head remains within it.." he says, a smile in his voice. Harriet snickers and brings her head out of the bowl. "Well, no. That probably wouldn't end well, you know?" She chuckles. "I was just looking. It's shiny." She places the fryer back on the counter, and gives Zach a big hug. "Hi! How are you doing?" Zach embraces Harriet happily and kisses her on the top of her head. "I'm fine, honey. Very fine indeed," he states warmly and sincerely. "How're you?" Harriet is a woman in her early twenties. She's below average in height, and thin and pale, as if she doesn't get out much. She has short-cropped, unruly, dark brown hair, and green eyes. Her round, open face seems as if it's used to doing a lot of smiling. A pair of gold-rimmed glasses perch--slightly askew--on her nose. Harriet is wearing an emerald green dress, in a neo-Victorian style. Panels of white lace cover the high, buttoned collar, bodice, and cuffs. The dress is ankle length, and she wears ankle boots of soft, black leather on her feet. Harriet is also wearing a large, thick denim jacket, which has been patched, whether it needed it or not, with numerous squares of rainbow and tye-dyed cloth. Harriet grins. "Oh, I'm just great, you know?" She pulls away to drift fridge-wards. "Do you want anything to drink? Or I have cake...not home baked, but pretty good. It's chocolate cheesecake." Zach beams at her and nods! "Object to chocolate cheesecake I will not. And I'll be happy to help you figure out that contraption. I've never used on of them things before, but I'm sure we'll manage!" Harriet chuckles, and makes a 'have at it' gesture to the fryer, while she bustles around getting out plates and placing slices of rich-looking chocolate cheesecake on them. "Oh," she says as she cuts the cake, "did you catch up with Cosmo, you know?" Zach turns to regard the fryer and starts fiddling with the pieces and searches for a manual. "Looks like an oversized storm cooker.. Cool..." he mutters to himself. "Huh? Oh yeah, I did." He straightens up and turns toward Harriet, his face now serious. "About my weekend meeting with Cos... There's something you need to know." Harriet takes the plates over to the table, and sets them down. At the change in Zach's tone, she turns around, looking at him curiously. "Sure, Zach. What's up?" "You might wanna sit down for this one, honey," he says quietly. "The news are going to reach you soon anyway, so it's better I prepare you." He pulls out a chair for her. Harriet stiffens, and looks at Zach with sad eyes. "Oh," she says, softly, and sits in the chair he pulls out for her. She tilts her head back to look at him. "One of those talks, you know?" She gestures to another chair. "Would you like to sit down, too?" Zach pulls out a chair for himself and sits down close to Harriet and takes her hand gently. He gives it a warm squeeze and jumps in. "Lucian Szabo is dead. Cosmo and I killed his Vessel on Saturday. The balseraph is now in Trauma." Harriet just stares at him, the blood slowly draining from her face. Her jaw works silently for a moment, and her she looks down at her lap. Her hand in Zach's is cold and limp. Zach reaches out with his other hand and quietly strokes her hair. "I'm sorry Harriet. But we could not leave him to work his evil any longer. So now he's back where he came from." He sighs softly and regards her with some consern. Harriet flinches slightly at Zach's touch, but doesn't resist, or look up. She is trembling; a tear rolls slowly slowly down her face, mostly hidden by the angle and her hair. "Oh," she says, just above a whisper. She bites her lip before she can say anything else. Zach, now feeling thoroughly miserable over having had to Hurt Harriet's Feelings, moves even closer and pulls her into an embrace. "Go on, girl. It's okay to weep over him even though he's evil. Heaven weeps over the Fallen every day. Just let it out..." he murmurs quietly and comfortingly to her. You paged Fidelity with 'Repage: I've been wondering about how Zach came to end up in KC. Given the AA who holds his Heart, I've been figuring it went something like: "Hey kiddo! Get yer toolkit and yer truck over to Kaycee and hang around there. My crew need a contact there, and you're it until you're not. Now scram!" Or did he get any orders as to what he was expected to do? (There weren't any in the Briefing:)'. From afar, Fidelity saw that, yes, but had to dash. You paged Fidelity with 'Ah. Always the dashing one, eh? :P'. Given permission, and a hug, Harriet loses control and begins to weep and shake. She reaches out and clutches Zach and just cries for a long while, her face buried in his chest. Eventually, it tapers off to hiccups and shaking. "I...tried to help him, Zach...really I did...I love him..." Zach gathers Harriet into his lap while she gives in to grief, to better give her full contact, safety and warmth. "I know, child.... I know. I tried to reach out to him too. Before you even came to town, but he just can't see. He is blinded like all his kin. Sometimes even Love can't stop beings from refusing the light." He strokes her back again and again. Harriet's arms move up to encircle Zach's neck as she's moved to his lap, and she curls there, still weeping, but more quietly. "Was he...did it...hurt?" Her voice is raspy with tears. You paged Fidelity with 'Huh? Nothing really new. :) It's just that...well unless you wizardly types have background plans about the Zach character that you haven't told me about, I'm going to continue evolving him from unbright support angel to indipendent, normally inteligent angel. I am of the impression that Creationers IST other AA's don't have much contact with Eli (as in not at all), so I'm a bit uncertain about to who and how I report. If I should report at all?'. From afar, Fidelity gahs. Sorry. That was a MAV. Zach cradles her and rocks her gently. "He had a couple of moments of unpleasantness. But it was over quickly. We do try to make clean and quick kills." You paged Fidelity with 'MAV? *giggle* Anyway - my statement stands. :)'. Harriet shudders reflexively. Then she nods. "That's...good." An odd little sound emerges from her throat. Then another. And then she's laughing, painfully, hysterically. She tilts back her head and laughs, with wild and pain-filled eyes staring past him to the ceiling. Harriet pages: This conversation /is/ kind of funny, in a sick sort of way... Zach just holds her firmly on strong, safe arms. This is really the only thing he can do right now; let Harriet work through the shock in her own way and pace. But oh what he wouldn't have given to have been able to protect her form this. Hell, he should have taken out the serpent before he managed to win Harriet's love! You paged Harriet with 'Agreed. It's weird is what it is! :)'. From afar, Fidelity considers tonight during his game and will send you word later. The broken laughter lasts longer than the crying, but it too, eventually winds down...mostly because Harriet does need to breathe, eventually. When it passes, she just lies limp in his arms, and stares at him. "Now what?" she whispers when she can get her vocal cords to work again. Harriet pages: Seriously weird. *sighs* You know, earlier that morning, they were describing clouds. It was actually kind of sweet. ;P "Now, you get on with your life. Work through your sorrow. I'll be here for you all the way, and so will Cosmo and Roger. If you need more than what we as friends can give you, I recommend getting an appointment with dr. Delia Fell," Zach tells her. "I should warn you though, that the police might show up here sooner or later. An autopsy will show that he was killed, and then they'll start to ask questions. If he returns in a new Vessel and Role, he'll probably try to point the cops toward Cosmo and myself too." You paged Harriet with 'Who were?'. Harriet pages: Harriet and Lucian. Of course, he was also being mildly evil and tempting her with going /flying/, but... Harriet swallows. "I...can deal with the police," she says, and closes her eyes. "I've done it before." She takes a deep breath, and lets it out slowly, laying her head back on his chest. "He'll...be back?" You paged Harriet with 'Ah.:) Flying?'. From afar, Harriet nods. Don't ask me how...I'm not sure I really want to know, and it didn't occur to Harriet to ask. She doesn't know about Celestial forms being non-touchable. Zach cuddles Harriet like only he can. "Yeah well.. We can always hope he won't, but... I'm figuring his Boss will send him back. The serpent knows KC pretty well, and that's a resource in and of itself. Not even DEmon Princes wastes resources just like that. Likely the demon that was known to us as Lucian will be given another chance to prove himself." He goes quiet for a short time, thinking something through. "Um... Maybe I should tell you how we arranged the death of his Vessel. Just so you're prepared when the cops come and tell you. It..ah.." HE looks uncomfortable. A certain faint glint in Harriet's eyes indicates that, just maybe, her hope and Zach's hope aren't on the same page, in regards to Lucian's return. But she just nods. "A-alright. If you think I should be prepared...should I be? I mean...wouldn't it be a little odd?" She frowns to herself. Zach sighs and thinks this over, frowning. "Hm, yes there is that. Look I... Okay, no details then, but you should probably know this: We made it look like a suicide. Harriet releases Zach, and tumbles away from as quickly as if he'd just caught on fire. From her position on the floor, she stares at him with utter and complete horror. "You didn't...tell me you didn't do that, Zach. Please." Zach looks her in the eyes and nods. His expression is one of regret and he turns on his chair to face her. "I am very sorry Harriet, but it's the truth. We did." Long distance to Harriet: Zach wants and elohite here. Now! Or at least the Ethereal Harmony or Ethereal Solace Songs.. :) Harriet stands up. Her expression is a blank mask, as her hands clench, unclench, and clench again. "How...could you do that? How, Zach? No, no no nonono..." The denial blends into a steady, monotone chant, and Harriet backs away from him, until she runs into the wall. Harriet pages: It would be useful, yes. Harriet wasn't all that stable /before/ this, actually. You paged Harriet with 'Hm. If Delia is available for rp, I might try to call her..'. Harriet pages: I've no objections. Zach gets up off the chair and follows Harriet. Clearly shaken and confused by her violently strong reaction to this. He had expected it to cause her grief and some pain, but this is a bit beyond what he feels competent to handle. However, he has a duty to take care of her and he'll have his forces scatered before he abandons her like this! "Harriet, please. Honey, you've got to remember that he wasn't human. He isn't truly dead. The body we killed is an artificial construct made my his Prince. Please..." He reaches out for her. Long distance to Delia: Zach pings! I'm having an IC crisis here, are you available for rp at this point? Delia pages: Yes, for a little while. From afar, Lucian tsks. Exposing the artist to the harsh realities of the War. ;p Harriet visibly shakes as Zach approaches, her own private, little Hell in her eyes. "How.../dare/ you?" she hisses, and suddenly launches herself at him, doing her level best to pummel the life out of him. Of course, she has no idea how to do this, but suspects it involves punching his chest as hard as she can. Long distance to Lucian: Zach sighs. You have NO idea. I'm gonna have to call inn...*shudder*...Judgement on this.. :) From afar, Lucian cheers the Judge on. "Bring the Cloak! Smite the Creationer! Put 'im on the rack and make him confess to Eli's whereabouts!" :p Harriet says, "Heh. Harriet's broken a bit. She can't do any damage to him /unless/ we get really unlucky and she rolls a Infernal. Shall I roll, or do you just want to RP it?" Harriet has a Strength of 1, and no fighting skill whatsoever. Zach blinks in confusion and catches her as she dives toward him. He makes no move to defend himself, deciding that she needs to vent and whatever she does, he is malakite enough to take it. He does, however get out his cellphone and dial a number with one hand as he gets pumelled. Zach says, "If you want to roll, go ahead. :)" Long distance to Delia: Zach | Your phone rings. AutoJudge: Harriet rolls: 2 + 2 = 4 . Check die: 3 Harriet beats pretty uselessly, but with great enthusiasm, against Zach's chest, snarling wordlessly. She actually doesn't seem to mind, or notice, that this is accomplishing nothing. Her eyes are squeezed shut, anyway. From afar, Delia picks up the phone, saying, "Hello?" Harriet sighs. "Harriet is such a wimp." You paged Lucian with 'Er. I was more thinking along the lines of getting a psychologist for HArriet, you dolt! ;P ;P'. From afar, Lucian pouts. "Darn." Long distance to Delia: Zach | "Hey Delia, it's Zach of Creation. I seriously need your help right about now. Are you free to make a home visit STAT?" He sounds very, very worried. In the background unarticulated voice sounds and repeated thumps can be heard. Zach gently embraces her with one arm, holding the cell phone with the other hand. "Hey Delia, it's Zach of Creation. I seriously need your help right about now. Are you free to make a home visit STAT?" He sounds very, very worried. Zach smiles and patpats. From afar, Delia answers quickly. "Of course, Zach; what do you need?" It eventually reaches through the lizard brain to Harriet that not only is she having no effect with the spirited attempt to turn Zach into Malakite Pulp, but he's /hugging/ her. She makes a few more attacks, but her heart isn't in it anymore. Finally, she just attempts to pull out of the embrace, and move quickly away from Zach, again. You paged Delia with 'delia | "I need your skills as a psycologist. Harriet is in a real bad way, as you probably can hear." He gives her Harriet's adress. "Please come quick, this is beoynd my skills to handle well." Zach is very reluctant to let her go, but won't force the embrace on her. Into the phone he says quickly and worriedly: "I need your skills as a psycologist. Harriet is in a real bad way, as you probably can hear." He gives her Harriet's adress. "Please come quick, this is beoynd my skills to handle well." He keeps his bewildered, desperately worried eyes on Harriet, trying to stroke her arm, take her hand, anything to try and comfort her really... You paged Lucian with 'Well, at least the Angst-factor just quadruppeled. :)'. Lucian pages: Wooo! Angst! You paged Lucian with 'Metric tons of it! Harriet is on her way to lala-land... Argh!'. Delia pages: I will be there as quickly as I can. Delia pages: Is there anything I need to bring? You paged Delia with '| "Something to calm her down would be good. Or if you have a Song that works for this. She's Aware, so it'. Harriet wanders away from Zach, trailing aimlessly through the apartment, touching various things with her hands, and looking utterly lost. "Suicide," she says to herself, and starts to shake again. "I should have...tried harder. I betrayed him. I knew...I /knew/, and I didn't tell him..." Long distance to Delia: Zach | "It's safe to do that." He hangs up. There is a knocking upon the door, coming from the direction of Terrace Lofts -- Landings. "Something to calm her down would be good. Or if you have a Song that works for this. She's Aware, so it ... It's safe to do that." He hangs up the phone. Zach shouts, "Come in!" Delia has arrived. Harriet is pacing aimlessly around the apartment, muttering to herself, and staying as far away from Zach as she can manage without walking into walls. She doesn't seem to notice Delia at all. Zach trails after Harriet helplessly. "Harriet... Harriet, please... You haven't betrayed anyone. Lucian knew perfectly well what was coming..." He turns to look at Delia, desperately. "Thank you for coming so fast, Del... Help?" Delia steps inside, and glances over the situation, and then says softly, "Harriet, I hope you do not mind that I am here?" Long distance to Harriet: Zach blames Cosmo. Suicide was his idea! :) I only realised the impact this would have on Harriet as we started to play this very scene. :) Harriet looks at Delia with blank and confused eyes, still seeming to barely notice her. She shakes her head in a jerky kind of way, and keeps moving away from Zach. "It's my fault," she whispers to no one in particular as she turns and makes another circuit of the room. "They both died, and it's my fault...it must be..." Delia says reasonably, "How could someone else's death be your fault, Harriet?" Harriet pages: Yeah. And oddly, he's the only person she actually *told* about it. Mind you, it was her Evil Twin at the time, but...well, we already know that Cosmo isn't terribly emotionally adept. And the thing is, she was feeling like she'd betrayed him before this. This was just the final whammy, so to speak. From afar, Harriet giggles. "I betrayed them," Harriet says, her voice thick with self-loathing. "You're supposed to protect the people you love, and I /didn't/. I abandoned them." She turns and looks around, frowning as she scans the apartment for something. Zach stands back to let Delia do her thing. You paged Harriet with 'But Zach knew how badly that thing with her ex bothered her, since he read it off her. Oh, but he's gonna get a bad Angst-whammy out of this one. >:)'. AutoJudge: Delia rolls: 5 + 4 = 9 . Check die: 6 Delia says, "I was just rolling for my resonance; what is the motivation for your current emotional state?" Delia needs to spend some essence for the next one, but how do I do that? Zach says, "+essence/spend #" AutoJudge: Delia spends 2 essence. AutoJudge: Delia rolls: 3 + 2 = 5 . Check die: 3 From afar, Harriet cuddles Zach. "It's okay. She won't break forever. Probably." Zach rolls Perception, just because :) AutoJudge: Zach rolls: 3 + 4 = 7 . Check die: 5 You paged Delia with 'What is the general nature of the disturbance? Did you spend Essence on a Song?'. From afar, Delia nods. Harriet pages: This is probably why Malakim shouldn't be allowed to do things all on their own. :) You paged Harriet with 'Argh! Eli will pluck my feathers for this and use 'em as pillow-stuffing!'. Delia says, "That was the ethereal song of healing; it wipes away chaos and insanity." Harriet ahs. Useful little thing, that. Zach anxiously hops from one foot to the other looking from Delia to Harriet and back again. He tilts his head as Delia Sings and then regards Harriet with some hope. Harriet slowly stops pacing, and the worse of the empty, shocky look leaves her eyes. She still looks miserable, sad, and deeply guilty, however. She sways in place and looks from Zach to Delia, silently. Delia says, "Harriet, please, talk to me. Tell me what happened." Zach starts to sidle over toward Harriet in the hopes that he can take her hand and guide her to sit on a chair or in a heap of pillows, to have that much-needed talk with Delia. Zach casts a questioning glance Delia's way though. This is now her show. "I..." Harriet pauses, and looks to Zach, looks away. "Lucian is dead. He...I knew they were going to do it...and he was /hurting/ people," she starts pacing again, but it's more normal Harriet-pacing, "and I know it had to be done...but...they made it look like...like he killed /himself/..." Her voice trails off into faint horror again. She shakes off Zach's attempts to guide her to a sitting place, hardly recognizing them. Delia says, "I admit I had not heard about this, but you are right; he had been hurting people, in very terrible ways." Zach sidles away again and ends up sitting down on a chair for all of twenty seconds. Then he is up again, fretting but shutting up and trying to keep outta the way. Delia has to go home soon, but I can log in from home. "I know that," Harriet says dully. "But...like that?" She gestures helplessly. "It was...too much. Too, too much. I couldn't...it was too much like Robert, and I just couldn't..." She shakes her head, unable to find the words. Harriet pages: I see both he and Harriet have at least one Ofanite force in them. :) Delia says, "I do understand, Harriet, but it was not Robert who died; it was an agent of evil. And whoever killed him - they would still need to go on living in this world, and they would need to find a way that would not get them killed or jailed." Zach says, "Okay, sounds good. :)" Harriet nods. :) Long distance to Harriet: Zach has a cherub and a mercurian force in him. The rest is all kite, and all 10 forces are currently Fretting(tm). :) Harriet flinches at both 'killed's, but reluctantly nods. "I understand...or, I'm trying to understand," she admits, looking at Zach with wounded eyes, "but it hurts...and like that? Like that? Suicide is...it's the worst thing that can happen to someone, to be so alone and so lost that it's better to be dead?" Tears start trickling down her cheeks again as she paces. "I feel like I failed. Again. But I tried..." From afar, Harriet awws and hugs. Such a cute fretting Malakite! Zach clears his throat from over toward the wall he is currently hovering next to. "It was me and another malakite who did the deed, Delia. And Harriet.... I...I can't even begin to tell you how sorry I am that we did it like /that/. I..we... never realised how...how devestating it'd be to you. We.... God, Harriet I'm so sorry.." Delia looks at Zach, falling silent for a moment. You paged Lucian with 'You know it's bad when the Creationer has to call in the Dominican to give sufficient care to a potential Soldier of Creation... :)'. From afar, Lucian patpats. Long distance to Delia: Zach is guilt tripping like you wouldn't belive it. Your Elohite of Judgement Attunement shows his face awash with the blood of extremely guilty feelings. Even if he has done what his Oaths demand of him. What a mess... Harriet pauses to listen to Zach, and shuffles from foot to foot, watching him. "I never told you." She reaches out tentatively to touch his arm with her fingertips. "You couldn't have known, really. I...didn't talk about it. I..." she looks at Delia, "I don't know what to do." Delia says, "It hurts a great deal, but Lucian didn't die by suicide, and he left no one to mourn him who is not better off without him. You are transposing the two deaths, but they are not at all the same; he was killed for his own evil, and he did not feel either lost or alone when he died." Zach's inner sense of honor is not in the mood for letting him off easy. He takes Harriet's hand and pulls very gently, offering an embrace. "But I did know, Harriet. I...I just forgot. Didn't think. I saw it in your Heart long time ago. This is all my fault, I've let you down." His eyes are filled with moistness and the look is one of utter remorse. "He always felt alone," Harriet says quietly. She doesn't argue with the rest of it, though. She feels along her hips for pockets, before realizing that this outfit doesn't have them. The hands gets loosely clasped behind her back, instead. "He was evil.../is/ evil, I guess." She blinks as Zach tugs at her hand, and shakes her head. "It's not your fault Zach. I don't blame you...you did what you had to do." She lets herself be pulled into an embrace. "It just...I was surprised. Very, very, unpleasantly surprised. It...hurt more than I thought it would, you know?" Delia says, "I do know; violence, even for our kind, is never easy. It is just sometimes - necessary, if we are to help people. That man was once, or could have been, one of our brothers; but he chose the easy way. He chose to hurt people." "I know that," Harriet says, quietly. "But it doesn't change the way I feel about him. Maybe it should. No, it definitely should. But it doesn't. And it hurts...it hurts a lot." She sighs, and looks down, squirming with guilt. "I'm sorry." Zach hugs Harriet tightly to him. This is his number one tactic to try to calm and comfort distressed people anywhere. He strokes her hair and rests his cheek on top of her head in a downward hug. "What Delia says is true, Harriet. The demon that was Lucian had to be removed from this world. I know the depth of his evil, Harriet. I looked into the very bottom of his heart, and.... Cold. Utterly selfish and cold." Delia says softly, "I do understand; completely. If there is anything I can do to help, I would gladly do it, but for grief, the greatest healer is time, time to work through the phases and come to understand and accept." Delia really has to go home; she's starving. Harriet hugs. "Go home, get some food. And thanks a lot for RPing with us!" Zach grins. Shoo! Go home and get dinner. We'll wait if you want to come back online? Delia nods. "I'll be back online in half an hour or so." Harriet nods, and says "Thank you." She doesn't specify to who, so it's probably to both. She sags agains Zach and closes her eyes, finally returning his hug. Zach says, "Let's take a break until Del is back, eh? This scene really rocks on toast!!" Harriet nods. "Works for me." She hugs the Cuddly Malakite. "This is a pretty fun scene, indeed. The joys of playing someone whose ethics are bound up almost entirely in personal loyalty..." Cosmo knocks softly on the door a few minutes later. Unaware of what's going on, he thought it a good idea to stop by and see Harriet. After all, she's probably heard about Lucian by now. He's holding his fedora in one hand as he waits for someone to answer. Delia's look of relief is evident to Zach, if not to Harriet's closed eyes; she manages a smile, her serenity returning. Zach sighs and just cuddles Harriet. Upon hearing the knock, he looks at Delia. "Er.. Could you...?" He inclines his head toward the door. Delia nods, and goes to the door; she opens it carefully, looking outside. Harriet opens her eyes, and peers around at the knock. "Who's that?" Delia says, "I don't know, I fear." She turns back to Cosmo. "May I ask your name, sir?" Cosmo is standing there, hat in hand. "Cosmo." He replies to the woman. "Is Harriet at home?" Delia says, "She is." She looks back at Harriet and Zach. "It's a man named Cosmo; is it alright if he comes in?" Harriet recognizes the voice, and nods to Delia. "Please. He's a friend." She moves away from Zach, again, to stand on her own. Delia steps away from the door, allowing Cosmo entrance. Zach listens and turns his head as he hears the familiar voice of Cosmo. Again he is reluctant to let Harriet move away from him, the need to hold and 'protect' her evident in his stance and his eyes. "Hey Cos," he says weakly as Cosmo comes in. Cosmo waits patiently, silently regarding the woman. He steps passed her and into the apartment. He gives Zach a nod in return. "Hello, Zach." He turns to Harriet then. "Hello, Harriet." He's not quite sure what to say. The feeling is mutual. With the new addition, Harriet feels the need to start pacing again, nervously. She pauses in mid pace. "Hello, Cosmo. Um. That's Delia Fell," she nods. "She's nice." Introductions done, she starts pacing again. Zach breathes in and looks around at the people gathered before him. "Right... Cosmo, dr. Delia Fell works for Dominic. Delia, Cosmo works for Marc. Just so's we're all on the same page here." Harriet pages: See, he's much better at introductions. :) Delia smiles at Cosmo. "Good to meet you, sir." You paged Harriet with 'He's been taking classes. :)'. Harriet pages: I imagine Awkward Situations 101 is a popular class in Heaven. Offering Delia a smile, Cosmo inclines his head. "A pleasure to meet you, Dr. Fell." What an odd name for a Dominican. The thought flashes through his mind. But Harriet's pacing has him a little worried. "Excuse me." He moves toward the young artist. "Might I have a hug?" Zach moves over to Cosmo and takes him by the arm. "Would you ladies excuse us for a sec? Cos, I need to have a word with you in quiet.." He is about to tug Cosmo with him into the kitchen, but must wait for hug to ensue. Harriet hesitates, and acutally has to think about it for a moment, before moving forward to gingerly embrace Cosmo. You paged Harriet with 'Unfortunately that's in mercurian class. They are the ones who are good at defusing that sort of things. :)'. Harriet pages: Awww. But Malakim /need/ instruction in these things! Cosmo doesn't wince at least. Though he returns the hug. He seems about to say something, but Zach's tug gets his attention. "I will be back in a moment." He walks with Zach toward the kitchen, inclining his head to listen. Zach drags Cosmo with him into the kitchen and mumbles rapidly to him, He mutters to Cosmo, "... that... really... I... about... and it just hit... Man, she went... /pieces/. She... a very... experience with... once,... this... all... Dammit... even... it... never... Shit!... such a bad... an... in... a... a... Thank God... Now Del's... her... a... Ethereal... so hopefully we'll... to... give time." Zach shakes his head in utter regret. He is mortified that he allowed this to happen. Cosmo senses "Zach drags Cosmo with him into the kitchen and mumbles rapidly to him, "Dude that suicide thing was a really bad idea. I told Harriet about it and it just hit her like a ton of bricks. Man, she went to /pieces/. She has had a very bad experience with suicide once, and this just brought it all up again. Dammit I even /knew/ about it and it never ocurred to me! Shit! She was in such a bad way half an hour ago I had to call in Delia in desperation. She's a psychologist and a really decent cloakie. Thank God for her, 'cause this went way beyond my capabilities with humans. Now Del's hit her with a Song, Ethereal Healing I think, so hopefully we'll be able to sort it out give time." Zach shakes his head in utter regret. He is mortified that he allowed this to happen." Harriet again tries to shove her hands into nonexistant pockets. She frowns vaguely, and clasps her hands behind her back as the two move into the kitchen. She regardss Delia and attempts to smile comfortingly. It doesn't work very well. You paged Harriet with 'Not really, unless you intend to let them loose on people socially, and not just for killing 'em. :)'. Delia's return smile is more sincere. "Is there anything I can do?" Harriet pages: It'd be /nice/ if they could be allowed in polite company. You paged Harriet with 'Well.. Hm. The Angel of Etiquette is a malakite of the Sword, so it can happen. :)'. From afar, Harriet laughs! "Amazing." "Shit." Cosmo replies in the kitchen. He literally hangs his head at Zach's words. Casting a glance at Harriet before looking at his feet. He sighs softly and looks to Zach. He murmurs something softly to the other man, then looks back to the other room again. Harriet shuffles from foot to foot. "I...don't know. I think I'm...okay, sort of." She blushes, and tosses a guilty look in Zach's direction. "I'm not going to hit anyone, or anything...I, um," she ducks her head, "maybe I could make an appointment for sometime, or something?" The last words are mumbled. You sense Cosmo speaks in a hushed whisper, "I knew it too. And it didn't occur to me. I should know better. We should have just made it look like a carjacking." Delia touches Harriet's hand. "Definitely; whenever you want to talk, I am willing to listen." Delia says, "Would you prefer me to leave, so you might be with your friends? I will not take offense; I simply understand that one must be among the trusted at a time like this." Harriet says, "Is it time that you have to go, Delia?" Zach sighs. He mutters to Cosmo, "Yes. But what's done is... Now... to... her out... be... can't... to... my..." he mutters between clenched teeth. THen he straightens up and heads for the living room again, having brought Cosmo up tp date. Cosmo senses "Zach sighs. "Yes. But what's done is done. Now we have to help her out of this mess. Delia will hopefully be able to help with that. I can't belive I managed to hurt my charge like this," he mutters between clenched teeth. THen he straightens up and heads for the living room again, having brought Cosmo up tp date." Delia says, "soon, yeah" Harriet thinks Delia's words over, still looking down at the ground. Slowly, she raises her head. "You...wouldn't mind? I mean, thank you a lot for helping...I needed it, you know?" She frowns. "I still need it. But..." she glances sidelong at Zach and Cosmo, and shuffles her feet again. Cosmo follows just behind Zach. He looks to Dr. Fell a moment, then back to Harriet. He'll need to speak with the Dominican. He stands where he is, though he has raised his head now. "Thank you, Dr. Fell." Delia squeezes Harriet's hand, lightly. "I would not mind at all; this is about what is best for you at this time, not what is best for me." She glances at Cosmo. "You are welcome, I think; I'm not sure what I did. Zach reaches out his hands to Delia looking very grateful indeed. "Thank you for coming so quickly Delia. Your talents were much needed. Harriet will continue to need them for a time, I think. I am in your debt." Harriet nods, and backs up a bit as Zach and Cosmo approach. She smiles awkwardly. "I'll...call you for an appointment, okay? Tomorrow, I guess...thank you, again." Her hands reach behind her back again, clutching one another. Cosmo was about to explain as well. "Zach's words are my own." He pauses, giving a shake of his head. "I am in your debt as well." He stands there in the middle ground silent now. Delia shakes Zach's hand, lightly. "I am glad I could helpt at all." She smiles at Harriet, warmly. "Be well, my friend." Delia slips out of the door. Zach hugs. "Thanks for the great rp, Del!" :) Delia says, "thank you!" Harriet hugs. "Yes, thanks a lot! It was much fun." Delia has disconnected. Cosmo damns and missed Harriet watches Delia leave, looking a little lost at actually being left alone with Zach and Cosmo. Her hands twist and grasp behind her back. "Um..." she says, and looks down at the carpet. Zach closes the door after Delia and turns slowly to regard Harriet and Cosmo. He walks over to Harriet and takes her hands, looking her in the eye. "I can only beg your forgiveness, Harriet. As you are my charge, I must accept the responsibility for this. The harm done to you was not intentional, but it is done. If there is anything, /anything/ I can do to make it up to you don't hesitate to tell me." Cosmo straightens his shoulders. He watches Zach take Harriet's hand, he stays where he is though. He doesn't want to crowd her. But the regret on his face is clear to see. He holds his head up though, ready to accept whatever judgement she gives. He waits his turn though. "I..." Harriet looks between the two of them, and shakes her head. "I forgive you, Zach, Cosmo. Of course I forgive you." She sighs, and takes one hand back from Zach to run her hand through her head. "It just...even if he didn't really...it was like a nightmare all over again. I guess I lost it. I'm sorry to worry you so..." Cosmo shakes his head once. But the gesture is vehement. "You have nothing to apologize for, Harriet. We were the ones who were careless of your feelings. We were so eager to put the infernals on the defensive, we forgot the reason why. That is inexcusable." He pauses, taking another breath. "I accept whatever penance you require of me." "Don't be sorry. Oh Harriet, don't be. And... Thank you." he kisses her hand gently, then lets it go and straightens up. He nods his agreement with Cosmo. Harriet gives Cosmo an utterly confused looks. "Penance?" she echoes weakly. She shakes her head, moving over to Cosmo and hauling Zach along by the hand as she does. "No penance," she mutters with a frown. "But...I could use hugs, I think. Um." Zach gets meekly hauled along. Upon hearing the magic h-word, he lifts Harriet up a little and arranges for a massive hug sandwiching her between him and Cosmo. Cosmo offers a faint smile as he reaches out to put his arms around Harriet and Zach on the other side of her. The hug is not so much enthusiastic as it is fierce. "Thank you for your forgiveness." Of course, he'll do some form of penance whether she names it or not. Zach says, "Imagine how many lilim who would have killed, maimed and geas themselves to be the filling in a malakim sandwich! :)" Zach says, "...and survive..." Harriet says, "Yup. She is the envy of Lilim all over the world. Brights are tearing their hair out in Heaven as we speak! :P" Cosmo laughs. Harriet briefly tries to figure out how to hug two people when sandwhiched between them, then gives up and just embraces Cosmo, while leaning back against Zach. That works. "I love you both, you know? I really do." She peers up at Zach. "And I'm really glad that I'm not better at hitting people. I'm sorry about that. Really, really sorry." Cosmo imagines they'd want more then a hug though. *ahem* Now returning you to usual pure thoughts. Harriet giggles. "True, true." Zach laughs! BE careful man! Good thing I didn't have anything in my mouth, or you'd have owed mea new laptop!!! ;D Cosmo grins. Zach has to chuckle a bit at that, even as mortified as he it. "No need to appologise, child. I richly deserved a thrashing, and it's a pity there won't be any bruises. And you needed to do that. Don't worry about that, please." Cosmo assumes Harriet hit Zach. He deserves it though. "I love you as well, Harriet." He squeezes again, then relaxes. He has a faint smile as he looks at her face. His head tilts to the side, and it's clear he does regret causing her pain. "Are you certain there is nothing we can do? Some favor you would ask of us?" Harriet chuckles weakly. "Don't die," she says, and shrugs. "Which I guess you two are more likely to be able to manage than most other people, you know? But...that's it, really." Her eyes go flat and bleak again for a moment. "Just...try not to die, okay?" Zach gives Harriet and Cosmo a squeese and plants a kiss on top of Harriet's head. "I know this is gonna sound ludicrous, Harriet but please don't get upset. Cosmo and I are malakites. We're used to dying. It happens from time to time, and we get back in a jiffy. Malakim don't suffer Trauma, so we can pop back to Earth within a couple of minutes." He kisses her head again. "But of course we will do our best to avoid dying needlessly." Cosmo looks to Zach a moment, then at Harriet as the other 'kite explains it. "It is, for us, something akin to getting your suit to soiled or threadbare to continue wearing." He pauses a moment, watching for her reaction. "But I am fond of my suits, and do not like to waste them needlessly. Nor recklessly." Harriet chuckles again, this time a bit stronger. "I was actual talking about /dying/ dying, but your words are reassuring nonetheless, you know?" She sighs, and her knees sag a little. "I need to sit down, I think..." Cosmo says, "Someone should make the video game analogy. If normal angels are video game characters, Malakim are characters with god mode." Harriet . o O (I need a new vocabulary for death. How freaky has my life become?) Cosmo laughs. Zach carries Harriet over to a heap of pillows and plants her carefully in a nest there. "Comfy? You want something to drink?" Zach snickers. Cosmo watches Zach, as he's the one that truly knows how to handle the women-folk. "Yes, anything you'd like?" He finally takes off his coat and waits. Harriet shakes her head, and huddles in her nest of big, fluffy pillows. She draws her knees up to her chest, and wraps her arms around them. "No, thank you. There is still cheesecake on the table, if anyone wants it, or drinks." She looks a bit abashed. "I'm afraid you'll have to get it yourselves..." Zach crouches down and strokes her cheek. "Are you sure, honey? Not even a glass of water?" he asks. His green eyes look lovingly into hers. Cosmo finally gets out of his overcoat. Heaven forbid he take off the suitcoat. He settles next to her and rests a hand on her knee. Harriet: Every Lilim's dream having not one, but two, pet Malakim. Harriet loves her pet Malakim! She smiles faintly at them both, and shakes her head again. "Thank you, but I'm...not fine, but I don't want anything." She nestles her chin into the valley between her knees. Staring off into the distance, she asks, "Do suicides go to Hell?" Zach has this picture in his head of the Angel of Etiquette (A Laurencian malakite) hovering in the background scowling at Zach and Cosmo, taking notes. They had better make it up to the lady or else.... Harriet giggles! Harriet says, "Like I said before, at /least/ she didn't find out from the newspaper!" "That is a point of theology that the Catholic church has incorrect. Despite the Commander's support of the institution." Cosmo offers a smile. "We know only that if someone achieves their Destiny, then they definitely go to Heaven. And if they fall to their Fate, then they definitely go to Hell. Beyond that, what rubric God uses to determine who goes where is a mystery. But I have met people who commited suicide in Heaven. They are often souls in pain, not selfish souls, so my own supposition is that they are more inclined toward arriving in Heaven." Zach nods at this. "Some end up in Hell, some in Heaven and the rest get reborn to have another try. I've never asked Destiny's guys about it, but I suspect the ratio is quite similar as for those hwo die of other causes." Harriet nods and breathes a heartfelt sigh of relief. She smiles at them, a brief but genuinely joyful smile. "I'm glad." Cosmo says, "And here we see Genuine Theological Differences Among Angels. :)" Cosmo rests a hand on Harriet's shoulder, rubbing gently at her smile. An idea forming in his mind. He glances at Zach briefly. But doesn't mention it aloud. Harriet says, "This doesn't bother Harriet as much as it would someone with actual, I don't know, /Faith/. :)" Zach sits down next to Harriet to be easily reachable in case Harriet wants more hugs. Or just a snuggle. He lifts a questioning eyebrow to Cosmo. Cosmo says, "Yeah, Atheists, Agnostics, and Don't Think About It Much-ers tend to adjust far easier then the really religious. :)" Harriet pretty much just sits for a while, her face flickering with various emotions as she thinks about things. Sorrow, guilt, anger, relief, and other harder to name feelings skitter like storm clouds through her green eyes. Finally she just sighs. "So. It's done." Harriet nods. "That, and she's really has just sort of put Angel and Demon masks over her original Psychic Space Alien theory, and tries not to think about anything actually religious very much." :) Cosmo laugsh. Zach snickers. WAit till you see an elohite in celestial form then.. :) Harriet hees! Cosmo Laughs. Zach gives her arm a hug and nods to her. "Yes. One less demon in Kansas City. For a while at least." Cosmo gives a little nod of his head as well. Just watching her closely, not sure how to react. "For now, at least. He will be in Trauma for a time." His hand squeezes her shoulder. Harriet nods, and falls back into silence for a few moments. She blushes, and looks down at her feet, shamefaced. "I...don't appear to be very good at this. It always seems to end with you two trying to put me back together, doesn't it?" Zach tousles her hair a bit and tilts his head. "Um.. No? Besides, helping and supporting humans is part of our reason to exist. Its a duty, an honor and a pleasure to help. And in this particular case - well, we broke you. We hade bloody well better do our utmost to help you get back together again." He tickles the toe she's looking at with a gentle finger. Cosmo rubs a finger across her blushing cheek. "You have nothing to be ashamed, Harriet. We are made to handle such situations. You are not. And we made things worse. You are handling it all remarkably well." Harriet shakes her head, not letting herself off that easily. "Not really. I feel...useless. Weak." She clutches her knees together. "It's not something I'm used to...but I don't know what to do. I couldn't help L-Lucian," she stumbles over the name, "I can't figure out how to keep Sarah away from Warren, and there aren't any shops that sell scorpions in the city..." Cosmo acks at the time. Harriet says, "Indeed. I take it you two are going to have to cut out quite soon?" Harriet says, "I say two, because Zach has been on for a while...his player is Strong!" Cosmo hehs and needs to get in bed. Work. Zach idly massages her foot and toes. "Look, you mustn't torment yourself over not having been able to break through the lies of a balseraph. And a pretty powerful one at that. He is way out of your league. Balseraphs are the most difficult of demons to get through to. And Sarah belongs to the second most difficult band to handle." Harriet nods and hugs. "Thanks for the RP! It was much fun." Zach is beginning to feel the time, yes. :) Take care Cos! Cosmo will just be being as comforting as he can. Harriet grins. "Okay." Cosmo says, "Night kids." Zach says, "Night!" Harriet sighs at the massage, her not-so-secret weakness, and relaxes a bit. "I don't want to handle her," she says slowly, "I just want her away. And I wanted to put a box full of scorpions in Traci's apartment." She glowers. "She hurt Roger." Zach shifts to better get at both of Harriet's feet and continues the massage. "I hear you have gotten quite up to date on things here. Yeah, Traci is a real nasty piece of work but I have plans for her. I'm going to make her life a living hell, and then send her there. Cosmo has some designs on Sarah I think, so I'll let him handle her. Who is this Warren, by the way?" Harriet sighs and moves her feet to allow him better access to her feet. "I know very little, really. But Roger needed to talk to someone, you know?" She moves a pillow to a better position behind her head. "Listening and hugging, I can do. And Warren..." she frowns and trails off. Zach skillfully and confidently gives Harriet's feet his full loving attention. This, at least, he is good at. He looks up with a questioning glance as she trail off. "Yes..?" You paged Harriet with 'Deliciously evil. :) Mine involves planting cameras and microphones.. Exposure in the school paper. Social services interveaning to take care of this wayward child.... >:)'. Harriet shakes her head and looks frustrated. But, hey, at least she's not thinking about Lucian for the moment. "He and I...don't quite get along. Sorta. We try," she assures him, and then groans in pleasure as his fingers find a particularly sore place on her foot, "but...we always end up staring at each other in utter confusion, you know? But he's an artist, and he seems okay...and he thinks Sarah is his friend." Zach takes care to work out each and every one of the sore and tender spots on the lady's feet. "Oh dear. Well, he's not alone in being fooled by her..." he sighs. "I too thought her a friend for many months, until God showed me the reailty of her nature. So... What is it that confuses you about this dude Warren?" *rub rub preasure rub stroke* Harriet squirms a bit so that she can watch Zach rub her feet and have her feet continue to get rubbed at the same time, ending in a sort of sideways U position on the nest of pillows. "If I knew, I wouldn't be so confused," she points out. "It's just...you don't think I mock people, do you?" Zach looks up at her in surprise, but never misses a beat with the massaging. "What? No! You most certainly don't! Unless you have a dark side that I haven't seen." Harriet frowns. "I don't think I do, either. But I've evidently hurt Warren's feelings a time or two with things I've said, or done, but I don't know what they were. And he won't tell me." She wraps her arms around a big, fluffy pillow. "It's very frustrating." Harriet pages: To put things in perspective, Harriet's done more apologizing to Warren in five or six conversation than she did to Lucian over the whole relationship. :) Zach sighs. "Oh, like that is it... I can understand the frustration. It's just hopeless when people won't tell you what you did or said wrong. It makes it extremely difficult to correct the wrong. Oop.. Breathe deeply and try to relax now, this is ginna hurt like hell before it gets all nice and warm.." He has found a particularly sore spot with nerves that are going to object to treatment. But when the soreness is rubbed out, it'll be pure bliss... Long distance to Harriet: Zach boggles!! Oh dear! That doesn't sound good at all. 8-o Harriet blinks and nods. "You're very good at this," she murmurs with a smile, then follows his directions, although she doesn't get terribly far with the relaxation. As he works the spot, she hisses between her teeth, and tries not to tense up even more. Harriet pages: Well, she didn't really apologize to Lucian, much. Harriet and Lucian actually get along rather well...and when they don't, it's because he's being evil, and she never felt a need to apologize for getting upset about /that/. Well, except for accusing him of frying small children. But Warren...Warren boggles her. Zach grins up at her as he rubs and cuddles the sore spot into submission and total surrender. It does hurt like a b*tch, but then - ahhh.... "Massages are part of malakite training. It's elemental Vessels care, you know. And we Creationers all get advanced courses in addition." He winks and uses his whole hands to rub her feet up and down from toes to mid-calfs. Zach will need to hit the sack soon. It's 6 am here. <:) Harriet gasps in relief and pleasure as the spot moves from pain to warm release. She smiles at Zach from her slightly awkward position on the floor. "Is there an Angel Massage School somewhere around here, or is it all upstairs, you know?" She makes little mms of appreciation as he massages. Harriet says, "I admire your stamina!" Zach chuckles. "Upstairs I'm afraid." Zach says, "I can leave Zach here massaging and eventually putting Harriet to bed? Or do you want to go outside and play with Warren? :)" "Alas," Harriet says sadly, and yawns. She appears to be drifting off, as the stress of the day is temporarily soothed by Zach's skillful hands. Harriet says, "Harriet's not in any mood to leave the apartment. So leaving Zach here is fine by me." Zach moves to lifte Harriet up and over to her bed. "Just relax now and let your worries fly away, Harriet. I'll keep working on all those sore muscles, while you drift off to sleep. I'm not leaving your side tonight." There is a warmth and confidence in his voice that clearly states that this is not a come-on. Merely an angel takeng care of his beloved human. Harriet awwwws. :) Zach :) Harriet gives Zach a grateful smile. "Thank you," she sayand reaches up to touch his cheek, before yawning once more, and letting herself drift off, utterly secure. Harriet says, "...says and..." Zach keeps on working out those knots and kinks, removing whatever pieces of clothing he needs to get at them. He is as good as his word and stays the night. Harriet will wake to find him snoozing next to her on the bed. And naturally, he makes breakfast. Zach hugs! Thank you for the great rp! This was a wonderful scene! :) Harriet hugs. "Good night. Or good morning! And yeah, it was pretty darn cool. :) And we got Delia in! Yay!" Zach says, "Yup. Now you have a therapist angel too! :)" Harriet says, "Yup. Boy, does harriet need it. Two adult relationships in her whole life, and the first one committed suicide, and the second was a demon. She's /this/ close to taking a vow of chastity and just forgetting about the whole thing!" Zach says, "The Creationer objects to that! :) (And starts contemplating playing matchmaker for Roger and Harriet...;)" Harriet grins. "Roger, unfortunately, probably isn't enough of a poker spine for her to get seriously interested in him. Alas, since he's already indicated his interest. :)" Zach laughs, huggles and heads for bed. See you later! Take care now! :)
