Logfile from Brass&Steel. Zach knocks on the door marked 'Number 4B <4B>'. Harriet opens the door, and peeps out. "Hello?" She brightens. "Zach!" Zach smiles warmly to Harriet and seems to generally beam. He has one hand hidden behind his back. "Hey there Harriet. How are you today?" "Now that the aspirin has kicked in, and the movers didn't drop anything irreplaceble?" she says, wryly, "I'm great! C'mon in, you know?" Terrace Lofts -- Number 4B Harriet beams at Zach. "So, what brings you here?" She stands on tiptoes, trying to peer around him. "And what's behind your back, you know?" Zach reveals the huge boquet of flowers that he was hiding and presents it to the lady of the house with flare. "These wanted a new home with an artist. I naturally brought them to you." The flowers are put together a bit haphazardly, so the boquet looks fresh-picked. There are blues, reds, yellows, oranges, whites, pinks, purples and greenery. Zach doesn't know enough flowernames in English, unfortunately... <:) Fresias, lilies, roses, gladiols... Harriet gapes with sheer delight. "Zach," she murmurs, and takes them carefully, "they're...beautiful, you know?" She spins around, and inhales their scent, giddy. "Wow! Thank you so much!" She darts forward and almost hugs him before remembering the flowers, then darts away to look for an empty vase, laughing. Zach smiles happily and follows to help her with the vase and getting the flowers into it thing. "I'm glag you like them.." Even if it's a rather untidy bunch, the colors match nicely - giving the whole ansemble a wild and energic feel. Harriet finds a vase, and gently adds the flowers, with Zach's help. "I love them," she says, gently stroking one colorful blossom. "I really, really do, you know?" This time she /does/ hug Zach, fiercely. "Thank you, Zach!" Zach oofs and hugs her tight, laughing. "You are very welcome, little sparrow!" Harriet pulls back, and looks up at Zach, one eyebrow raised. "Sparrow? When did I become a sparrow, you know?" Zach chuckles and bems down on her. "Well I gotta kee trying out titles for ya. You didn't want to be a princess, so now I try sparrow. Ma'am is also out of the running." Harriet chuckles. "There's always Harriet. But I suppose sparrow is okay, you know? Sparrows are kind of cute." She does a little dance. "Hey, I have ice cream. Chocolate. Want some?" Zach grins from ear to ear and shines like a newly minted silver coin in sunlight. "I'd love some! Would /you/ like to dance? You can hardly stand still!" Harriet /does/ dance her way to the kitchen. "I have flowers! That's so wonderful. Getting flowers is great, you know?" she chirps, rather like a sparrow, as she pulls out bowls and ice cream. Zach can't help but laugh along with her. One would have to be a complete and utter pokerspine to not be brainwashed by Harriet's contagious hapiness. "If I'd known how much you love that, I'd a brought you some sooner!" "I'm not arguing," Harriet says, with a wink, as she brings the bowls of ice cream to the table, along with a bottle of powdered cinnamon. "Flowers are all to the good. Did you pick them yourself, you know?" Zach seats himself by the table and beams down on his bowl of ice creamy goodness. "Not exactly. I went to a big florist and put it together myself. It's a bit too late in the season to find these out and about." Harriet breathes a sigh of relief. "So no angry group of matrons are going to track you down and beat you for ruining their gardens? That's a good thing," she says, eyes twinkling. Zach laughs and digs a spoon into his ice cream. "Nope. No angry matrons. Not ones that are angry with /me/ anyway." Harriet beams. "Good, and good again." She digs into her own ice cream, making appreciative noises as she recieves a much-needed chocolate fix. After a little while, she asks, "How's your day been so far, you know?" The current time in Kansas City is 1:15 PM, Wed Oct 23, 2002. Zach munches his ice creama and swallows before he can answer. "It's been pretty slow so far. Nothing to to at the garage, so I figured I'd pop over here with the floral thingies and make sure you were okay. Afterwards I'll take the tow truck out anf cruise along the highways to look for emergencies." He waves his spoon arouns as he talks. Harriet nods and smiles. "Well, I'm sorry it's slow, but it's good that there aren't many wrecks, you know?" She suddenly ohs, and looks rather sheepish. "And I should apologize for stepping on your foot last night. It wasn't an accident...I was angry, and a little on edge, and I'm sorry." Zach snorts an amused chuckle. His eyes shine with warm humour. "No need to be sorry, Harriet. I knew what was going on. And anyway you're not heavy enough to do any serious damage." He winks and stuffs a spoon filled with yumminess into his mouth. "I could so do damage, if I wanted to!" Harriet says, rather indignantly. "That's it," she grumbles, "I'm going to take Cosmo up on his suggestion, after all, you know?" She scowls at him, but her eyes are dancing. "But I'm glad you weren't hurt, or anything." Zach smiles and failes spectacularly to look chastised. "Who's Cosmo? Another rival?" Harriet chuckles and shakes her head. "A friend. And like most of my friends, these days, a very odd person, in an interesting way, you know?" She grins. "He gave me the address to the studio where he practices Brazillian Ju-Jitsu. They have classes." She chuckles. "It seems like fun." Zach's eyebrows rise. "Brazillian Ju-Jitsu? I thought they were all into capoeira? Sounds fun allright!" Zach grumble.. Harriet says, "More hot water, table one!" Zach burns his bra and demands that the celestial Song of the Pill be made available to all! Harriet shrugs. "I don't know much about it. Cosmo is not the most talkative of individuals." She smiles. "But you'd like him, I'm sure. He's a bit reserved, but on the 'philosophical differences' divide, I'm fairly sure that he's on your side, you know?" Harriet says, "Hear, hear!" Zach blinks and flashes an amused smile. "You think? How so?" Harriet raises her eyebrows. "Aside from the same charming habit of avoiding questions that should be perfectly ordinary like "where are you from?" or "how old are you?", he works at a charitible organization making sure that grant money goes where its supposed to, and seems deeply devoted to his job, and frowned very strongly about the Divine Comedy's lower level." She shakes her head. "Roger's met him, and seems to like him." Zach shakes his head and smiles wryly. "I liked the Inferno. I was way cool! And I did tell you where I'm from." His smile the expand to a genuine grin and he adds, "Hey relax. I ain't gonna push it, okay? What kinda philosophical side do you count yourself on then?" Harriet leans back in her seat, toying with her spoon idily. "I don't actually know what the sides are, do I? Or even how many there are, you know" She smiles. "All in all, I'd say I'm on the side of the confused people who don't know what the hell is going on." Zach hee! :) Harriet says, "Hey, it's the truth! :)" Zach hmms. "That makes sense I guess.. Can I ask you... What's your greatest ambitions in life? What would you like to be able to look back upon when you're eighty-nine?" He inclines his head just a little. Harriet blinks, looking rather befuddled. "Um. Let me think about it." She does so, eating a bit of ice cream as she thinks. "Leaving the world a more beautiful, and I guess just /better/, place than I found it." She shrugs. "Sounds silly, I guess, but I'd like to look back and think I did more to help than to harm. But, uh, I don't have any actual retirement plans, or anything, you know?" Zach beams quietly at her. "I kinda like that retirement plan you've got going already. Bringing beauty and positive vibes into the world is a great way to spend one's life. I try to do much of the same. It's so....I dunno /right/." Harriet says, "Blast and damn. RL has just knocked on my door and offered to take me out for dinner. Since I haven't eaten, I must listen. And she was finally getting somewhere! *sob*" Zach patpats. I need to go to bed anyway. Been up for 20 hours... :) Harriet nods, and beams at him. "Exactly. It does feel right. There's too much pain in the world...it'd be nice if I could stop a little of that, even if it's just a little, you know?" Her telephone shrills, making Harriet jump. She reaches over and picks it up. Whatever she hears makes her frown. "Blast," she says as she hangs up. "That's the gallery. They need me down there." She waves her finger at Zach. "This conversation...not over, you know?" Harriet says, "Eek! Go to bed!" Zach rises and embrace Harriet, being careful to avoid being any kind of sleazy. "Not over. I'll sod off now. Thanks for the ice cream and take care, hon!" Harriet hugs him back, and chuckles as she shows him out. "You're always welcome, Zach, and be safe!" You say, "Bye now!" Zach saunters out.
