Logfile from Brass&Steel. Harriet and Lucian are skating. Harriet without much grace, and Lucian--curse him--with the agility of a natural. Lucian remains quiet for a few more moments, then looks over to Harriet. Tentatively, he asks, "How have you been, lately?" Zach comes moseying along the way and wanders up by the ice rink to delight in one of his favourite past-times: People watching. He finds himself a nice spot where he can get a good view of all the folks gliding around on the ice, and watches with a smile as little children and grown people move around in various definitions of grace. Harriet looks at him, a hint of wariness in her expression. Then she shrugs. "I'm okay. Not going to win any Let's Be Happy contests, maybe, but I'm dealing, you know?" A moment's pause. "And you?" Harriet is a woman in her early twenties. She's below average in height, and thin and pale, as if she doesn't get out much. She has short-cropped, unruly, dark brown hair, and green eyes. Her round, open face seems as if it's used to doing a lot of smiling. A pair of gold-rimmed glasses perch--slightly askew--on her nose. Harriet is wearing a sweater of thick, black wool, which has been dotted here and there with tiny rhinestones, which twinkle merrily in the least bit of light. Her jeans are worn and faded, and have been painted with butterflies in a multitude of colors. The new-looking hightop sneakers on her feet are an amazingly bright shade of yellow. Harriet is also wearing a large, thick denim jacket, which has been patched, whether it needed it or not, with numerous squares of rainbow and tye-dyed cloth. Lucian: Tall and thin, the gentleman at hand stands some six-foot-five inches, but weighs likely no more than one hundred and sixty pounds. Vibrant, sapphire-blue eyes gleam brightly against his otherwise pale complexion. Though he otherwise seems no older than perhaps thirty-five, snow white hair falls down to his shoulders, where it curls just a touch at the end, clearly the product of either quality genetics or expert hairstylists. When he smiles, his teeth are perfectly even, gleaming brightly - again, either genetics or dentistry, but either way an exceptional result. His soft-skinned, long-fingered hands end in perfect nails, with nary a speck of dirt or dust to be found on them. He wears a dark blue button-down, one clearly of high quality, based on the cut. The material is even of pleasant texture, feeling somewhat like suede. His slacks are well-cut khakis, neatly hemmed, with a leather belt. Black polished shoes sparkle. Completing the ensemble is a fine tweed jacket, perfect down to the leather patches on the elbows, and the faint - but strangely pleasant - aroma of pipesmoke. Over the ensemble, Lucian wears a long, thick black coat with a bit of fur lining the collar. Zach gazes contently out on the skaters, smiling and occationally winking at females gliding by. Ah, the joy of quietly hanging out... Then he spots a peculiar couple; a thin, very tall man and a tiny, slight woman. Oh dear. Scheisse! That blasted, miserable, good for nothing piece of handbag material!! Gah! And he's even skating well! This is untolerable! Zach straightens up in righteous indignation. It's been a /very/ long time since he last had ice skates on... He resorts to waiving at the couple as they come gliding along. Wimp. Lucian skates on well. Looking towards Zach, he smiles, broadly, and waves his hand in reply. Looking towards Harriet, he shrugs. "I doubt my happiness is to be a thing of legend either," he replies. "Too many small things have been unpleasant. I intend to take actions regarding this," he says firmly. "A few good triumphs should clear up my record, nu?" "Or, you could, just possibly, look elsewhere for your happiness, you know? Non-evil places...skating, for example." She catches sight of Zach, and waves. "I'm going to go talk to Zach, Lucian. You're doing well at the skating...I hope you enjoy it." And she strikes out towards the barrier. Zach eyes Lucian warily as he gets enwaved. Then the wonderful Harriet comes zooming toward him and he lights up again, smiling in greeting. Sarah emerges from the frosted glass door of Crown Royale Leatherwear. Lucian frowns at Harriet as she skates off. A low hiss escapes his throat, and he digs his blades into the ice with a spray. He glares at Zach, clearly pondering the prospect of skating over and causing... Difficulty. An Evil Gleam (tm) comes into his eyes as he rejoices in various scenarios. Harriet reaches the barrier in front of Zach, and stops by the convienient method of running into it. She smiles at Zach. "Hey, there. How're you, you know?" Sarah steps out of her shop and locks the door behind her, whistling softly to herself. She turns and strolls down the walkway, pausing only to grab a cup of coffee from a freestanding coffee vendor. Laughter from the direction of the ice rink draws her attention though and she pauses to watch. Zach catches hold of Harriet as she reclessly rams into the barrier. He couldn't have done it better himself! "Hey there, girl!" He bends forwarf and snogs her on the cheek. "I was fine up until a minute ago when I noticed how you're playing with danger again.." Harriet smiles, hugs him back, and nods in rueful acknowledgement of Zach's point. "We still disagree on everything except the weather, however, so I guess he's been playing nice, you know?" She shrugs. "And I thought he'd like skating." Sarah eye's sweep the rink and she frowns slightly as they fall on Harriet and Zach, chatting. She takes another swig of her coffee and starts to saunter over. Lucian strokes his chin, and smiles, blandly. Still, it may not be good to remain on the ice for this particular Evil Plan. So he skates around one more time, just to show off, and then slides over to a gate to return his skates and reclaim his depoist. Zach sighs as his eyes flick toward Lucian. Best to keep an eye on that one. "He's invested in you, so he doesn't want to give you up without a fight. This ain't playing nice, it's playing to win. It's playing to twist you to serve Them," he states quietly and calmly. Best not to allow others to hear this, as it's rather um...occult. Zach says, "Trying to spot Sarah before she creeps up on us. :)" AutoJudge: Zach rolls: 5 + 1 = 6 . Check die: 6 Zach spots like Laurence Hunting his prey! >:)" "I've no doubt you're right," Harriet says, equally softly, "but screaming and running away whenever he comes in view isn't exactly an option, you know?" Her lips quirk into a smile. "It's not like I'm tracking him down with a Monopoly board, or anything." Sarah grumbles :) Lucian has to go. Sorry. :( Zach says, "Aww! :(" Harriet awws and hugs. "Thanks for the RP!" Zach hugs. "Tell Jen we wanna see her on B&S!!" :) :) Lucian says, "I will tell her this. :)" Harriet nodnods! Lucian hugs. "I am also veyr very sleepy. See ya, folks." Sarah wave! Zach says, "Take care!" Lucian hugs all and bids adieu. Zach stiffens and turns his head slightly as he notices a /very/ familiar form sauntering toward them. His mouth twitches and his eyes get this strange, unreadable look in the. "Uh-oh.... Here comes another one..." he murmurs softly to Harriet. Sarah sips her coffee and flashes a charming smile at both Harriet and Zach. "Good evening. Enjoying the skating Harriet? Harriet nods at Sarah. "Yes, I am. I'm actually getting to where I don't fall down quite every five seconds now," she replies politely. She looks to Zach. "Speaking of which, I ought to go return the skates, and get back my sneakers, you know?" She smiles at him, and skates for the nearest gate. No screaming, see? Why on earth would there be screaming? Just because there are....ahem...interesting people...ahem.. around? Never! Zach regards Sarah intently and smiles to her. "Hey there Sarah, been a long time now. 'Xept for that brief hello in Swope park last week. How've you been, hon?" You paged Sarah with 'Trying the blessed ping again. Not that it'll work. Both you and your alt are cursed that way. :)'. AutoJudge: Zach rolls: 2 + 4 = 6 . Check die: 4 Sarah leans on the railing and smiles back "Oh pretty good, the holidau season is keeping me busy. You? Sarah pages: or blessed :) You paged Sarah with 'Hey! It bloody worked!!'. From afar, Sarah grins "What do you need to know? You paged Sarah with 'Lasts weeks single most and least honorable deed. Last years three most and least honorable deeds.'. Harriet exchanges skates for shoes with a smile at the counterlady, and also retrieves her sketchbook. She plops down on a bench near the kiosk, and starts to put on her shoes, with great care. Zach keeps an eye on Harriet over Sarah's shoulder. Where the hell did that damned, overgrown tapeworm go? He brings his attention back to Sarah, smiling softly. "Oh I'm fine. Work's keeping me busy as well. There's been a few cold nights lately, making some of the roads interesting at times." From afar, Harriet notes that Harriet is going to /have/ to get some points in Emote and Lying at some point. * You paged Harriet with 'Not the worst skills to have. Unless you spend a lot of time around seraphim, that is. :)'. From afar, Harriet looks hopeful. "Does that mean that if I have points in Lying, Clarity will stop trying to seduce me?" Harriet's Player snickers evilly and shakes her head. You paged Harriet with 'Alas. I wouldn't be to optimistic. :) Would you prefer being hit on by me instead? ;P'. Sarah pages: lets see. Most honorable, ploting with Ruby against the angels. Most dishonorable in the last week, squashing her urge to suduce Cosmo while he was at her store just because Lucian wandered in. Most honorable in the last year, working closely with Traci to seduce teenage boys, Obaying Andre's orders and getting Zach into bed with her. Most Dishonorable, failing to get Zach to lust after her, and 2 other ones that I can't think of right now. From afar, Harriet notes that, at the moment, the only person Harriet wants to be hit on by is an overgrown tapeworm. :) Sarah smiles "Ah, must be a good season for work." Then she smirks slightly "Hows your truck holding up? AutoJudge: Zach rolls: 1 + 3 = 4 . Check die: 1 Zach says, "That was an Int roll...." Sarah says, "ah :)" Long distance to Harriet: Zach thinks Harriet needs to loosen up and boogie! :) Harriet finishes tying her shoes, and stands up. She also looks around for Lucian, seeming mostly relieved when it appears he has taken the better part of valour. She makes her way, slowly, with plenty of pauses to look at various deeply interesting things, back to Zach and Sarah. Harriet pages: Alas, Harriet is capable of near Cherubic devotion. Which, by the way, is one of the only reasons she's stayed around this long...Mr. Make-Me-A-Promise. One of Zach's eyebrows makes its steady way upwards at this. He regards Sarah even more intently, with a slight glint in his eye. "My truck? Now why would you be inquiring about my truck, Sarah?" Long distance to Harriet: Zach beams! :) Sarah takes a sip of her coffee "Oh, Lucian mentioned that you've been having troubles with it." Harriet blinks as she draws close enough to hear Lucian's name, and walks over to the railing, and leans against it, facing Zach and Sarah. She smiles politely at nothing in particular. Sarah pages: can I try to read your emtions? You paged Sarah with 'Sure.'. Sarah pages: going for a cd of 3 or better AutoJudge: Sarah rolls: 1 + 5 = 6 . Check die: 5 Sarah pages: make it (barely) Lets see, can I have your overall emotional state, single strongest emotion and the reason behind that emotion?" You paged Sarah with 'Overall state: Wary. Single strongets emtion: Protective because he fears for Harriet in the present company. Cherubically protective..'. "Oh did he now. My, my." He looks suspicious, then smiles wryly. "Well the truck is doing fine, thanks." Sarah is tall for a woman at 5'10". Much of this height comes from her long shapely legs which are, like the rest of her skin, a dusky brown -- the color of coffee with cream. She is slender but muscled, giving proof that she works out. Her curly black hair just brushes her shoulders and frames a lovely oval face with warm brown eyes and lush red lips Today she is dressed in tight black leather pants that cling to her legs and rear like a second skin. Over it she wears a tight sleeveless red shirt, it's neckline swooping low enough to show off the top of her breasts. The shirt is pulled in even tighter with a black leather belt that wraps around her waist. On her feet at low heeled black leather boots. Sarah smiles at Harriet "Hello dear. How was the show, I'm sorry I missed it." She flicks a glance at Zach "Glad to hear it. Wouldn;t want you out of work." Harriet grins, and nods. "The show was good, thanks. I made a big sale, which I guess is the definition of success, you know? How's the Crown Royale been?" Sarah grins "Oh busy, it's the holiday season you know." Zach is starting to fall asleep.. <:) Sarah says, " aww" Harriet awws. "What time is it over there, anyway? Two?" Zach nods. 02:20. :) 11 hour workday at the end of a stressfull week taking its tall.. Harriet oofs and patpats. Sarah says, "long day :P" Zach nods and leans shifts his stance to become more relaxed. "So are you doing most of the work yourself these days, or do you have an extra in for the rush?" Harriet lets her gaze drift from Zach and Sarah to the front of her sketchbook. She plays idly with the pencil stuck in the binding and flips through the pages. Sarah smiles, but it does not reach her eyes, "Oh I have help when I need it" Harriet pages: In case you're wondering, Harriet is in 'Ah' territory again, and can't really think of anything to say to Sarah except, "I thought we were friends!" Zach's eyes show a hint of sadness as he meets Sara's false smile steadily. "Ah, of course. Come to think of it, I've seen the extra worker in there. So.. Are you getting anything new and cool shipped in for the Christmas sales?" Zach thinks that 'sales' is probably the wrong word. but can't think of another. <:) Sarah nods "Oh yes, I just got a nice shipment of leather coats and dusters in. Very popular." Long distance to Harriet: Zach patpats. :) At 'new and cool' Harriet looks up from her perusal of her past sketches, and smiles with interest. At the mention of the coats, she smiles a bit. "Sounds interesting," she murmurs, "not that I would give up my jacket, you know?" You paged Sarah with 'Btw. ICly I'll edit away the names I got from the resonate. I don't think I'm supposed to get other people's identities from that. (As I'm most emphatically NOT a mercurian!:)'. From afar, Sarah grins "Alright. Zach chuckles in agreement. "Oh yes, I can see that. Leather coats are way cool! Even though they're a bit impractical being so big and billowy." Sarah grins "But they look cool!" Harriet grins, as well. "That they do. But not really my style, you know?" Sarah looks dispointed "Oh well, have you tried one on at least?" Zach waves a thumb at Harriet as he tells Sarah, "She's to short for one of them big coats. She'd just look awkward and dumpy in one of them things. She should go with the jackets or the more tightfitting, figure-tailored coats." Zach grins to Harriet. "Sorry, but I don't think you'd billow too well.." Harriet blinks at Zach. "I could wear one if I /wanted/ to, Zach, you know?" She frowns a bit at him, "I just don't particularly find them attractive. On me. On other people, they're fine, you know?" Sarah runs her eyes over Harriet and smiles "Oh, I think they'd look good on you." Zach chuckles again and his eyes twinkle teasingly at Harriet. "Of course you could wear one if you wanted to, hon! Nobody's saying anything against that." "Well, thank you, Sarah," Harriet says with a slight smile at the other woman. She shoots a Look at Zach, then sighs. "You're probably right about the billowing, however. Dusters just aren't my style, you know?" Her smile is a bit wistful, though. Zach grins and reaches out to pat Harriet's arm. "They look utterly cool, that's for sure. But they don't wear all that well. Not for my use, anyway. They just get in the way and I trip over them and stuff." Sarah grins "Why are you so sure? I think you'd look great in leather." Harriet chuckles. "I look okay in leather. I actually did buy a leather dress from the Royale one day when you weren't there, you know? It's, um, not my usual style, but it's certainly fun." She grins. "But coats are a little different." Sarah blinks "We'll have to go dancing sometime and you can show it to me." Zach gives up. Isn't coherent anymore... :( Sarah hugs "Better get some sleep "Ah, well," Harriet says, and blinks. "I really don't wear it all that often, you know?" Harriet says, ""Rest and recuperate. It was much fun!"" Sarah grins at her "Why not? Zach says, "Thanks for the rp! It's horribly Wrong for Zach to leave Harriet with Sarah, but I just can't stay awake any longer. <:)" Harriet looks a little embarrassed. "It's really not my style, you know? That's all." Harriet patpats. "It's okay. Harriet will no doubt be...alive tomorrow. Possibly." Sarah looks thoughtfuly "Well what is your style Sarah grins Harriet eeps, but bravely does not beg Zach to stay. "Sleep! Rest!...help..." Sarah hugs "Night zach Harriet hmms. "My style is more flowing, you know? Um...floor length skirts, loose and comfortable. I have a nice green dress in my style." From afar, Harriet prays for a DI in the form of Cosmo... Zach smiles to Harriet. "You look stunning in it, thats for....*grumble*" The Dread Cellphone goes off, claiming Zach and his truck. "Sorry ladies, I gotta split! Take care now, y'hear? Bye!" He hugs them both, with or without permissoin and scrams. Long distance to Harriet: Zach nods! Sarah bites her lip "Well, I admit that leather is not very good for flowing, how about a nice leather skirt. They're suprisingly easy to move in. Harriet pages: G'night. Sleep well!
