Logfile from Brass&Steel. Sarah says, "care to set the scene?" Zach is lounging on a bench facing the duckpond. His long legs are stretched out, and he looks very comfortable. He is lazily throwing bits of bread into the throngs of ducks. Sarah comes strolling along the path that leads to the zoo. She's carrying a small stuffed animal that's half tucked into her purse. She pauses for a minute to watch the ducks and only then notices Zach. Raising an eyebrow she heads over to him "Well those look like very happy ducks." Zach looks up at Sarah and grins. "Oh hey, honey! -Yeah, they better damn well be. This is top quality bread I'm feeding 'em!" Sarah is tall for a woman at 5'10". Much of this height comes from her long shapely legs, which are, like the rest of her skin, a dusky brown -- the color of coffee with cream. She is slender but muscled giving proof that she works out. Her curly black hair just brushes her shoulders and frames a lovely oval face with warm brown eyes and lush red lips. Sarah is currently wearing tight black pants that cling to her legs and hips and show off her bellybutton. Above the waist she has a plain white shirt on, its scoop neck revealing the top of her breasts when she leans forward. Sarah chuckles and sits next him on the bench, watching the ducks swarm. "That's good of you." She smiles at him "So, did you walk Ada home?" Zach nods and smiles softly. "Yes I did. She was a tad bit upset." He tears some more bread into smell chunks and keeps feeding fat city ducks. Sarah raises an eyebrow, but keeps her eyes on the ducks "What about?" Zach shrugs lightly. "Oh, I dunno really.. Lots of stuff probably. She misses Hachilah a lot, and she'd had a lousy day at work, and it probably was that ti..." Zach snaps his big mouth shut. There are certain things you just do not say to women if you wanna stay friends. In stead he offers Sarah some bread. "Wanna help me feed the little buggers?" Zach smiles his most charming smile. Sarah lips qurik up into a smiles "Sure." She takes some of the bread and tosses it onto the water and is rewarded by a sudden rush of quacking ducks and ducklings. "Everyone has bad days a guess." She sighs "I was just a bit jelous of her snuggling up against you. Is that just silly of me?" Zach chuckles. "Nah. For me it's kinda flattering, y'know." Sarah blushes a bit and looks flattered "Really? You don't mind when I get jelous of other women hanging on you. You must be used to it I guess as you're quite hadsome." Zach clears his throat a bit and grins sheepishly. "I try to avoid confrontations like that. But flirting with several ladies at the same time, *will* eventually get a guy in trouble." He sighs. "I do try to avoid pepole getting hurt." Sarah smiles "Well I'm glad for that." She winks athim "How about just flirting with me." Zach winks. "I already am flirting with you, my pretty." He shifts a bit and gets even more comfortable. Sarah smiles "So you are." She moves closer and slips an arm around his waist and rests her head on his shoulder "I like ducks, they seems very happy to just be ducks." Zach moves his right arm to rest along the back of the bench behind Sarah. "Yes, I see what you mean. They don't have many worries apart from getting fed, procreating and fleeing from the occational bird of pray." Zach says, "That would be bird of *prey*.." Sarah nods, smiling a bit "Yeah and they don't seem to have much problems with food she said, pointing an especialy fat duck. Zach emits a deep, warm chuckle. "No. City ducks are amazingly well fed. They probably have a colesterol problem, but since they're not aware they don't have to be unhappy about it." Sarah shifts her head on hos shoulder to look up at him "Has anyone ever told you thatyou have a nice laugh?" Zach smiles down at her. "Mmm...no.. I can't think of any from the top of my head at least." He bends his arm a little so that his index finger can play with one of Sarah's curls. Sarah tosses her legs onto the bench and stretches out smiling up at him "Mmm that's nice. I;m glad that I got to be first." Zach's eyebrow rises. "Oh.." He smiles, and lots of smiling wrinkles congregate by the outer cornes of his eyes. "Well, thank you princess. That's a very sweet thing to say." Sarah raises an eyebrow "Princess?" Zach twirls hin finger into a curl. "You don't care for the term? I wont call you that if you don't like it." Sarah shakes her head "No no, I like it." She pauses "No one's called me that before." Zach moves his hand along with Sarah's shaking head to avoid getting his finger trapped and unintentially yanking her lock of hair in a painful way. "Oh? Well I'd say it's about time then. But you must have been called other nice or cute nicknames, though. Beautiful lady like you... How many guys have you left pining for you, eh?" He smiles gently, Sarah chuckles "Oh I admit that there have been one or two, but none of them were like you." She reaches up and lightly trails her fingers down his cheek. You say, "Oh? How so?" Sarah chuckles "Fishing for compliments?" Zach smiles and continues to gently toy with her hair. Zach laughs. "No. No I wasn't." You say, "But I realize that it sounded a bit....off.." Sarah flashes her grin at him "But I'll tell you anways. You thoughtful and kind and care about other people rather then just yourself..." Zach looks puzzeled. "You mean to say that your former men were unkind?" Sarah shakes her head "Oh not unkind, just...hmm selfish, didn't really think about anything other then themselves." Zach tsks. "Well, then they missed out on the good stuff in a big way. Life is a lot more interesting if you take care to notice other people." Sarah smiles "Care to show me the good stuff?" Zach smiles fondly at her and shifts so she can lean more comfortably on him. "The good stuff... Oh where do I start?" He ponders. "It's all those reactions you get from *seeing* people and in various ways letting them know that you have. It's..." Sarah nods at him to continue looking curious. You say, "...the smile you get from the young mother struggeling out from the store with lots of bags when you hold the door for her. It's the nod of appreachiation you get from the oldtimer at the cafe when you listen to his warstory. It's that special twinkle in a lover's eyes when you caress him or her in that special way. Not to mention that sometimes someone you noticed, noticed you right back." Sarah is just happen to be twinkling as he lists these things "Sounds nice. Of course most people can't be bothered to do those things." Zach smiles. "And that's a great pity. What I have found, though is that there are plenty and plenty of people who will respond in a positive way. They just don't dare to be the one to *start*." Sarah nods, still looking at him "And how about in a relationship?" Zach twirls one of her curly locks again. "How do you mean?" Sarah smiles, her eyes half closed as he plays with her hair "Are you as generous in relationships as you are normaly?" Zach blinks. "Well.. _Yes_. What would be the point otherwise?" He sounds genuinly surprised at the question. Sarah chuckles "Belive me, judging from my previous relationships, that's not the norm Zach shakes his head. "I find it much more rewarding to be generous than to be a stingy schmuck. Mind you, being a travelling 'saddlebum' I don't get many long-term relationships." Sarah nods slowly, her eyes half closed "Well that's good with me. I'm kinda enjoying the freedom of being on my own, but still, there are defently things I miss about being in a relationship, someone to go to the movies with you, someone to call up and complain about a about a bad day." She pauses "Someone in bed with you. I really miss that." Zach puts his arm properly around Sarah. "I see what you mean. Sharing intimacy with another person is... That's important to us all I think. And being able to complain about a sucky day at work to a sympathetic ear is a form of intimacy in itself." Sarah sits up and snuggles against him, smiling "Yeah I defently miss the intimcy." Hachilah arrives from the south. Zach smiles to Sarah. Sarah and Zach are siting on a bench near the duck pond. Sevral ducks are at their feet munching on bread. Hachilah wanders through, swinging a bucket and humming softly to herself. She stops to look at something on the ground, then continues wandering. Sarah smiles back as she lightly plays with his hair "So, how long are youplaning on staying in town this time? Zach looks up and stiffenes as he notices Hachilah. He sucks his breath in with a hiss. Sarah frowns as she feels him stiffen under her arm "What's wrong." She follows his gaze "Oh hey, it's Hachilah." Zach relaxes forcibly. "Uh.. Nothing wrong really. She just reminds me about somebody." He smiles to Sarah. "Let's call her over, eh?" Hachilah pauses thoughtfully and glances over toward Sarah, perhaps at the sound of her name. She takes in Sarah's companion and, after a moment smiles and offers a friendly wave. She turns from her current path and wanders over to the bench. She looks at the bread, then at Sarah. "Hey Sarah." She smiles, perhaps more widely and looks at Zach. "Hey Zach." Sarah gives him a curious look "Oh? Who does she remind you of?" She smiles back at Hachilah "Hey there, Hach. Hows it going?" Zach smiles to Hachilah. "Hey, Hachilah! Nice to see you, kiddo!" Hachilah beams at such a warm welcome. She swings her bucket absently and looks at the ducks. "What are you... two up to today?" Sarah grins "Feeding the ducks and talking. How about you?" Zach chuckles. "We are here to make sure that the city ducks stay fat, yes." Hachilah is a small teenaged girl. She stands at ~5'2". Wide blue eyes peer out from pale skin, contrasted by a tiny strawberry mouth. Hachilah's hair is arranged in an explosion of medium-length bleached dreads. She has a kind of sleepy romantic look, perhaps because of the way her eyes turn down at the outer edges. She smells of Irish Spring soap and, in general, looks very clean. She seems young. Hachilah is wearing a thin cotton undershirt that clings slightly, freely revealing her barely developed curves. The shirt is tie-dyed pink, and hangs just barelyover a pair of casual faded jeans. She is wearing a string of colourful beads around her neck --- it hovers loosely above the hollows of her clavicles. She has knotted some beads into her hair, and they make her dreads swing a little when she moves her head. Hachilah blinks at Zach. "Oh? Why is that?" Zach grins to Hachilah. "It seems to make them happy." Sarah nods "And we like happy ducks." Hachilah raises her eyebrow a fraction and hrms, looking at the ducks. "How do you know when the ducks are happy?" Sarah looks down at the ducks and shrugs "Probably when they're healthy and well fed justlike most animals Zach straightens up a bit without dislodging Sarah. He looks up at Hachilah with an oddish look in his eyes. His smile remains warm though. "They make a lot of noise and happyquacks, shake their tailfeathers and stuff. Looks happy to me." Hachilah tilts her head to the side, then examines the nearest duck, taking in the vapid gaze, the near-incessant quacking, the oily exterior, and the complete lack of facial expression. "Hrm." Sarah blinks at Hachilah "What? you don't like ducks or something?" Zach smiles to Sarah. "She seems unconvinced about our observations." Hachilah looks at Sarah and raises the eyebrow again, then back at Zach with a mild intensity. She shakes her head and sags her shoulders a bit, looking away. "I'm afraid I fail to interpret the duck impression of happiness." Zach lazily stretches down a finger to scratch a mallard on her brow, and ows as she nibbles his finger thinking it's bread. Upon discovering that the finger isn't food, the mallard waddles off to get some more bread and shakes her tail in a huffy sort of way. Sarah looks between Zach and Hachilah "Err have you two met before I can't remmber/" Zach blows on his finger. "So, Hach. What are you up to today?" Zach nods to Sarah. "We've met. At the BBQ with Ada the other day." Sarah smiles slightly "Oh? I think I came injust as Hachilah was leaving or something." She reaches out and lightly strokes his hand "Hows your finger?" Hachilah watches the duck exchange pleasantries with Zach, then nods and smiles. She starts to respond, but stops as Sarah massages Zach's appendage. Hachilah says, "*ahem* :)" Zach says, "*splutter* :D" Sarah laughs! Zach grins to Sarah. "My finger is fully functional. It takes more than one duck to kill it." He looks up at Hach. His eyes keep searching her features over and over. "You were going to say something?" Sarah looks between Zach and Hahcilah obviously noticing the slight tension between them but remains quiet Hachilah tilts her head slightly, looking ever thoughtful, then blinks and responds. "Ah yes. What am I doing? Wandering, actually. Looking for people... something to do... the usual." She grins, but seems quite interested in the exchanges between Sarah and Zach. "Have you... seen Ada, by any chance? She isn't... where she usually is." Sarah throws a quick glance at Zach and shakes her head "I'm afraid I haven't seen here in a few days." Zach shakes his head. "Haven't seen or heard from her in a couple of days. She did say she had a lot of work to do though. Something about an overdue contract." Zach beams a smile at Hachilah. "Noe you've found people - us. Wanna hang with us for a while?" Zach says, "That was supposed to be "Now you've..."" Hachilah blinks and nods at Sarah. She bites her lip slightly, nibbling it thoughtfully. She can't seem to resist Zach's broad smile, and her eyes light up at the invitation. "I certainly do." Hachilah climbs onto the bench, wrangling a seat next to Zach. She grins up at him. Sarah slides over a bit, making room for Hachilah on the bench "We have some more bread if you want to feed the ducks. Hachilah says, "Too slow! I want to sit next to the hottie! :)" Zach hands Hachilah some bread and grins to her. Hachilah says, "er. The other hottie :) Hey, we're all cute here. :)" Zach says, "Eh? Which one you wanna sit with? :)" Sarah says, "Laughs" Hachilah grins ever more widely, and happily accepts the bread. She tosses it delicately at a duck. It goes pretty fast, hitting the duck in the head, and causing it to emit an irritated quack. Zach says, "There is room on Zach's left side. (He said hopefully...)" Hachilah grins. Hachilah says, "Well, I know Sarah pretty well. I think it's a fresh meat thing! :)" Hachilah is sitting on Zach's left side, then :) Zach chuckles at the duck. Sarah wags a finger at Hachilah "Now now, We're supposed to feed the ducks, not bonk them onthe head" The corners of Hachilah's mouth turn down in an expression of embarrassment and self-deprecation. "Oops", she says in a low tone. Her eyebrows crinkle apologetically. "Sorry, duck!" She chews her bottom lip again. Sarah says, "I mean what would Jordi think!" Sarah reaches over and pulls off a bit of bread and tosses it to the duck that Hachilah hit "How errr how are you and Ada doing?" Hachilah says, "Heh." Hachilah envisions the ducks suddenly acting in unisen to peck her bucket to bits. Sarah laughs Hachilah glances sharply at Sarah. "Why do you ask?" Sarah bites her lip "Well...when I was talking to her in the BBQ after you left, she said that you had told her to go date other people." Hachilah grins. "Oh, yes. I did." Sarah raises an eyebrow "But why?" Hachilah looks thoughtful, possibly considering how to word her response. "Because... she often becomes lonely when I am... absent for long periods of time." Zach shifts again to make himself more comfy on the bench and follows the exchange between the ladies. He keeps glancing at Hachilah, not *quite* staring. Sarah nods and glances at Zach "Hey you never toldme who Hachilah reminded you of" Hachilah glances curiously at Zach. Zach tears his eyes away from Hachilah in a hurry, his cheeks coloring slightly. "Ehm.." Sarah eyes flicker in ammusment "An old girlfriend?" Zach's eyes gets a haunted look in them and he frowns a bit. "Yes. I guess you could say that..." Sarah looks down "I'm sorry, obviouly it didn't end well." Hachilah tilts her head slightly to the side and rests a petite hand on Zach's hand. She regards Zach with a sympathetic expression. Hachilah smiles. "Perhaps as you get to know me better, you will not be so reminded of the person that I resemble." Zach sighs softly. "It's just uncanny. Apart from the age difference there's really no difference... Either you are related, or this is one of them 'every person has a double somewhere' things." He squeezes Hachilah's hand and smile to her, sadness in his eyes. AutoJudge: Zach rolls: 1 + 2 = 3 . Check die: 3 You paged Hachilah with 'Resonating!'. Hachilah pages: sweet roll! :) Hachilah pages: Ok, what are you doing to me? :) You paged Hachilah with 'You are getting sleeepyyyy... :) No, Three most noble and ignoble deeds last year.'. Sarah nods "Yeah, it poribably is just a wierd coincidence. I've had that happen to me before." You paged Hachilah with 'Eh... That should be a CD5 on account of the touching, but I didn't state it first, so we'll let that be.:)'. Hachilah pages: Nope, that's ok, which do you prefer? :) Hachilah pages: CD 5 is fine :) You paged Hachilah with 'Oh hell, I'm curious! Gimme the whole 9 yards!:) Do you have the book there, or need I post the q's?'. From afar, Hachilah has the book :) Zach nods to Sarah. "Yeah, probably." Hachilah pages: Three most noble: nothing especially noble, _according to her own standards_. Zach grins again. "The world is a weird and funny place, so strange things do happen. It's part of the fun." Sarah laughs "I'll buy that. If everyone were the same life would be boring." Hachilah pages: Three most ignoble: slapped someone in anger, doubted herself, miscommunicated/misled someone by mistake. Hachilah pages: Greatest virtue: charity. She is exceptionally generous and loves humanity. Hachilah pages: Worst sin: Wrath. She has a temper. :) You say, "Excactly! I meet a lot of strange people all over the place. It's just so cool to spend time people-watching!" Sarah leans against Zach "I'd like to go people watching with you sometimes." Long distance to Hachilah: Zach keeps squeezing Hach's hand gently. The look in his eyes shift from sad to sad and slightly hopeful in a fearful way. Hachilah nods and smiles, and squeezes Zach's hand in return. "People watching is one of my favorite daily activities, also." Zach keeps squeezing Hachilah's hand gently and shifts a little to make Sarah more comfy. Sarah glances down at the bucket "Hey, still playing on street corners?" You sense Hachilah leans against you slightly. Hachilah grins at Sarah. "Yep. I have more songs now, and sometimes there's a group of us." Hachilah senses "Zach stiffenes imperceptibly and then relaxes, giving your hand an extra little squeeze. Very, very gently." Hachilah's smile wanes a slight bit, and she glances briefly Zach-ward. Sarah senses "Zach stiffens ever so slightly before he relaxes again." Zach looks at Hach. "Oh, you play in a band now? What sort of songs do you do?" Hachilah's face lights up at the opportunity to discuss this topic. She does tsk slightly and explain, "It's not a band. Just some friends, from all around. The actual content varies depending on the people involved... we've done a cappella, contemporary, folk songs... " Hachilah's smile wanes a slight bit, and she glances briefly Zach-ward. Sarah raises an eyebrow looking interested "Really? That must be nice. I admit that I've never seen you and your group downtown. Where do you play? Sarah senses "Zach stiffens ever so slightly before he relaxes again."" Sarah flicks a glance at Zach and takes his hand, rubbing it lightly. Zach smiles from ear to ear. "Sounds like great fun! Do you all have instruments?" Hachilah shrugs and grins. She withdraws her hand gently and leans over, reaching into her bucket. She pulls out a couple of glass bottles, filled with tiny coloured bits of pasta. "We can make our own instruments, if necessary." She grins and shakes the bottles, illustratively. "Ada and I made these." You say, "Oh, nice!" Sarah bends down to peer at the bottles "Very creative." she says pleasently. Zach grins. The glass bottles appear to be soda pop bottles. One is clear, the other is a transparent green. The pasta bits are brightly-coloured hues of red, green, blue, purple, orange and yellow. Hachilah senses "Zach doesn't really want to let go of your hand. But reluctantly releases it anyway." Hachilah beams. "It was Ada's idea to use food colouring on the pasta bits." Hachilah passes the bottles over to Zach and Sarah. "Want to... try them out?" Hachilah grins. Zach chuckles and grabs a bottle. "It's meant to be a sort of marachas, right?" He shakes it experimentally. Zach shakes the pastamarachas in a steady samba beat. Sarah smiles and taps her toes in time to the beat Hachilah grins and nods. "Yes. An instrument for percussion." As Zach begins a steady beat, Hachilah's mouth falls open in an expression of exuberance. She giggles and claps her hands quietly along. Hachilah says, "What is a samba beat? :)" Zach says, "the beat or rythm you get in samba music:)" Hachilah takes a moment to get into the rhythm, then begins to hum along, using a random tune. Sarah gets up and starts dancing a bit in front of the bench, ingoring the odd looks she gets from passersby Zach hums along with Hachilah, a pleasant baritone in harmony with her lighter voice. He smiles at Sarah. Sarah smiles back at Zach as she dances." Hachilah's grin grows, as she nods appreciatively to Zach and then stands to join Sarah in a dance. She closes her eyes and grins happily, tilting her face up to the sky. Sarah chuckles and holds out her hands to Hachilah "Dance with me" Zach leans over to get the bucket up onto the bench, never missing a beat. With his nonmarachassed fingers he starts to trace out a complimentary beat on the bucket. Zach starts to sing: "Her name was Lola, she was a showgirl.." Zach says, "It's an lod Barry Maillow hit. Sorry:) Was the only samba I could remember:)" Hachilah opens her eyes, her eyebrows shooting up in an expression of exuberance as she realizes that Zach is actually... playing her bucket? She does miss a beat, actually, as she blinks, then looks at Sarah to see if she noticed. She happily takes Sarah's hands and joins in a dance, as Zach begins to sing. Hachilah says, "Barry Manilow! *rofl*" Hachilah :) Zach says, "Yeah:) With typos and all!" Sarah sings along with Zach as she dances, her body gliding along with the beat Sarah has neverheard of the song :) Zach, marachas in one hand and playing a bucket with the other is grinning and singing the whole story of Lola the showgirl from Copa Cabana. Sarah dances happily with Hachilah untill the end of the song, her body moving smoothly and seductivly Zach does a nice break on the bucket drum at the end of the song, then he laughs. His eyes sparkle at them. "Wow, you two ladies dance beautifully!" Hachilah is much less seductive, bouncing with child-like glee. As the song nears the end, she winds down , bouncing over to Zach, sliding next to him and hugging him with unabashed joy. Zach wows and returns the unexpected hug with a HUGE grin on his face. Zach then reaches out to pull Sarah into a threeway hug! Sarah laughs and leans into the hug, clearly enjoying it. Hachilah giggles and hugs happily. You say, "Man! This is what I'm talkin' 'bout! Music and dancing and enjoying the hell out of life!" Zach is a happy camper indeed! Sarah leans back and looks Zach in the eyes "Well I'm certanly enjoying myself." Hachilah starts a bit at the word 'hell', but quickly recovers and nods. "Yes. Hanging out with you has been very enjoyable thus far." Hachilah grins. Sarah needs to go in about 15 minutes. Hachilah nods. Zach reluctantly releases the ladies from the hugpile. Zach says, "Okie:)" Sarah keeps her arm around Zach's waist and smiles at him "Hey Hachilah. how aboit you play and Zach and I dance." Hachilah beams happily. "Sure!" She looks up at Zach, smiles, and dislodges herself. Zach smiles at Hachilah. "Can you do a bossanova?" Zach rises and bows to Sarah, hand outstretched. Hachilah takes the bucket, flips it over, and blinks at Zach. "Bossanova?" Zach reaches over and taps out a latin rythm with his fingers on the bucket. "Kinda like this.." It is quite similar to the samba. Hachilah slowly nods, and seems to catch on pretty quickly. "Ah! Certainly!" She seems exceptionally pleased to have learned something new. In short order, she beats out a rhythm, as prescribed. Her enthusiasm is matched only by her talent. Hachilah is a bucket virtuoso! :) Sarah watches for a minute and then gently drags Zach onto the 'dancefloor' Zach admires! Hachilah says, "Heh. :)" Zach takes Sarah into his arms and leads on in a bossanova dance. Like all latin dances it involves lots of foot movement and hip movement. And the man is Boss.:) The dancefloor is just about the only arena in the modern world where the man is the Boss. :) Sarah allows Zach to lead as she wiggles her hips in time with the dance music. She lightly presses her body against him Hachilah beats the bucket happily, regarding the couple mildly. Zach turns out to be a decent dancer, if not championship material. He leads Sarah through a nice dance and uses his natural machismo for good effect. The lead is firm and decisive, and he keeps eyecontact all the time. Hachilah continues to beat the bucket, but she starts to sing along... sort of mimicing the Copacobana song. Hachilah says, "jas! :) MOm on the phone." Sarah follows along obedently, clearly enjoying herself. She likewise looks into Zach's eyes, smiling slightly. There is an intensity in his eyes, that Sarah might not have noticed before. Right now he is fully focused on the dance and on Sarah. One hundered percent. You paged Sarah with 'The pic of Zach shows the look I'm trying to describe:)'. From afar, Sarah nods Sarah presses her body aginst him, locking her eyes on his, drowning in the look Zach now fully in control of the dance, keeps Sarah close to him. One hand resting on her hi, the other holding her hand and leading. He also uses his own hips to gently nudge her this way and that. Then he pushes her outward from him in a twirl. Sarah twirls around at the end of his arm, gliding easily on the grass before bringing her body against his, her hips moving against his as they dance. She slides hands down to his hips moving slowly. Hachilah :D Zach smiles and leads Sarah into the final moves of the improvised bossanova. "You dance well, my lady," he mumrmurs softly with a twinkling smile. Sarah grins up at him "So you do." Sarah needs to take off Hachilah hugs! :) Hachilah says, "Have fun :)" Zach ends that dance and bows to Sarah again. Zach says, "Thanks for the rp! It was fun!!" Hachilah happily regards the dancers with admiration. Sarah sighs and steps back as the dance ends. With a glance at her watch she yelps "Sorry all, had a great time, but I have to take off." She waves and heads out. Zach kisses Sarah's hand with a flourishing gesture. Sarah says, "see ya!!" Sarah waves Hachilah says, "Bye! ;)" Zach waves to Sarah. Hachilah waves to Sarah and calls after her, "Great dancing Sarah! See you later!" Zach glances after the hurrying Sarah with a smile and then turns to Hachilah. "You drum well, hon." Hachilah smiles up at Zach, then regards her bucket with a tender expression. "I've spent a great deal of time learning how to make pleasant sounds with a bucket." She shrugs delicately. "People seem to enjoy it." Zach lands back on the bench next to Hachilah. "It's important to keep reminding people of the simple pleasures of life. That's a great gift you have there to be making people happy." He looks into her eyes as if searching. Hachilah beams quietly, staring back into Zach's eyes with a kind of artless joy. "I am gifted. But the blessing was in the form of a wise and patient father, I must admit. He taught me the value of charity and compassion." Zach's warm, slightly intense eyes continue to drown in Hachilah's. "That was an admirable thing of him to do. Not all fathers manages to teach such wisdom." You say, "What else did he teach you?" Hachilah grins and nods slightly, though it seems she is being drawn into Zach's intense green stare. She blinks a couple of times, thoughtfully. "He... taught me everything that I knew, up to..." she pauses abruptly. Then begins again. Hachilah says, "He taught me... patience, humility..." Hachilah grins slightly, and continues, "...logic... Zach is all ears. He focuses completely on Hachilah and hangs onto her every word, expression and gesture. Hachilah smiles and chuckles. "He has taught me so much. More than I can articulate at the moment, I'm afraid. You see... many of his lessons seemed so... vague at the time that they were given. However. As I spend more time on my own, I realize that these lessons were quite relevant and illustrative." She pauses for a moment. "Do you know what I mean? Have you... had the experience of a wise parent?" Zach's eyes mist over. Very quietly he whispers: "Yes. Yes, I had a wonderfully wise father. Still do, but I haven't seen him in a long, long time. He taught me everything I know about people-watching. And...love, compassion, music, joy..." Hachilah observes Zach with quiet intensity, taking in the glistening eyes and the subdued posture. She threads her fingers in among Zach's fingers and squeezes gently. "You miss him. Is he gone?" Zach nods. "Yeah, I miss him a lot. But he's out there somewhere doing good. He just ain't sending any postcards." He blinks away the mist from his eyes and smiles softly and lovingly at her. "Do you see your father often?" Hachilah blinks and looks a little startled by the question. "I don't, actually." She's starting to look a little misty-eyed herself. Zach gently, gently strokes her chin with the back of his index finger. "Why not?" Hachilah blinks, distracted perhaps. She doesn't seem to mind at all, really, in fact, she leans slightly closer to Zach as she responds haltingly. "Because... he's not... here with me." Zach gives in to his emotions and scoops her into a sideways embrace, keeping one arm tightly around her as if to keep her safe and snug. "I know that feeling. But we have to trust those older and wiser than us. They know more than we do." Hachilah blinks some more, clearly taken by Zach's openly emotional display. She seems to melt into the embrace, physically revelling in the closeness of another corporeal creature. Her mind is a step behind her body, however, and she seems just the slightest bit confused and hesitant. "Yes, I suppose that we do." She looks at Zach's mouth briefly, before looking back into Zach's eyes. Her eyes are a bright intense blue. Zach tries to get a hold of himself. He leans his cheek on top of Hacilah's head and deposits a hug there, before straightening up a bit. He keeps his arm safely around her, though. "I...I'm sorry if I'm coming on strong here. I don't mean to...to frighten you." He smiles to her, a hint of mist sneaking into his eyes again. "Say, your name - Hachilah - it's kind of exotic. Was it your father who gave it to you?" Hachilah tilts her head up slowly, regarding Zach with solemn interest. "Yes. It's from the Hebrew language. It means 'My hope is in her'. My father and mother both decided on it. They said it... seemed appropriate." Sort of impulsively, Hachilah nestles her head on Zach's shoulder, under his chin. Zach smiles fondly down on the petite girk nesteling up to him. He then rests his chin gently on top of her head. "It's a beautiful name. Truly beautiful." After a pause he asks: "What's your mother like?" Zach says, "Erk. Petite *girl*!" Hachilah takes a pretty long pause to answer that question. "She's... quiet. But strong. Decisive. She was away a lot while I was growing up... very very busy." She grins slightly. "My father says that she is very strong willed, and that I get my most frustrating personality quirks from her." Hachilah says, "Heh. It's ok! :)" Zach cuckles lightly. "And what are those?" Hachilah shrugs. "Apparently, I'm a little blunt. Excessively forthcoming, and... possibly arrogant." She rolls her eyes a little, and grins. You say, "Arrogant? I sure haven't seen any of that in you." Zach smiles. Hachilah smiles pleasantly. "Ah yes. However. You haven't attempted to argue with me yet, either, have you?" She gets a twinkle in her eye. Zach grins. "Well no. So far you have been making sense. No need to argue then." There are mischiveous twinkles in his eyes. Hachilah giggles and pats Zach's cheek affectionately. You say, "Say, where d'you come from? You a native to KC?" Hachilah stops patting and drops her hand, pausing thoughtfully. Her response is a bit cagey. "Nope. Why do you ask?" Zach inclines his head and continue to smile that warm and loving smile. "Because I am trying to figure out the mystery that is you, little angel-girl." Hachilah blinks. "Oh." She stiffens and pulls away slightly. "I'm not the kind of person who discusses her past with relative strangers, Zach." Hachilah shows signs of flight. Zach lowers his eyes a bit, sadly. "I am sorry if I have offended you, Hachilah. Please forgive me." Zach looks worried and keeps still to avoid seeming threatening. "I didn't mean to scare you. Please..." Hachilah's expression goes from discomfort to remorseful nearly immediately. "No." She seems insistent, speaking emphatically. "You haven't offended me at all." She smiles slightly. "And you certainly haven't scared me." She leans back toward Zach, a rather pleasant place to be really. She hugs reassuringly. "I just don't talk about it often, that's all. It's... a difficult topic for me." Zach lets out a breath of pure relief. The words 'thank God!' might be percieved upon that breath. He hugs her back tightly for a second, then returns to just having a secure, strong arm around her. "I can understand that, at least. We all have things in our past that are difficult and maybe even painful to remember. Not to mention talk about. I didn't mean to pry..." You say, "Well.. Actually I *did* mean to pry, but you may consider me properly chasticed for now." Hachilah nods. Her expression is a mixture of remorse and quiet frustration. She sighs momentarily, and tilts her head up. "It's not unusual to ask a person about their past. In fact, it seems to be a relatively common way to form friendships, in my experience." She sighs again. "You have done nothing wrong, Zach. I..." She pauses again. "I am rather enjoying talking with you. You remind me of someone..." She trails off, looking oddly puzzled. A random duck wanders by and quacks at the two people hanging out on the bench. Zach almost chokes. "I...I do..?" And then he eyes the duck. Hachilah nods, then looks at the duck. She pauses, considers the duck carefully, then tosses a piece of bread at it. She manages to miss it's head this time. Hachilah says, "Ack, I must go soon :)" You say, "Ahm... Can I ask whom?" Zach says, "Ok :)" Hachilah considers the duck some more, then glances back at Zach. "Hrm? Oh. I'm not sure. There's just... something familiar about you, I suppose." She smiles artlessly, and looks back at the duck. The sun is actually beginning to set now, the shadows of the trees criss-crossing in elongated fashion along the various walk-ways in the park. Hachilah chews her bottom lip thoughtfully. The duck gobbles up the offered bread, and waddles happily back to the water. He makes a duck-sized tidal wave as he splashes back into the pond. Zach sags a teeny, weeny bit. "Oh, well... There are more things between Heaven and Earth, Horatio.." He stretches. "It's getting kinda late. Can I walk you anywhere?" Hachilah grins up at Zach. "Nah, I'll be fine. I don't really have a planned destination." She grins. "I just go where the wind takes me, as it were." She leans up and plants an affectionate kiss under Zach's chin. "I hope to see you again soon, Zach." Zach takes her head in his hand a plants a loving kiss on her forhead. "And I you, Hachilah. I want to get to know you more, little angel-girl." Hachilah smiles happily, obviously enjoying the affectionate exchange. She extracts herself reluctantly from Zach's warmth and stands up. She picks up her bucket and grins. "Thank-you... for teaching me the bossanova beat." Her eyes twinkle. "You really do... beat a mean bucket, as they say." Hachilah says, "Thanks so much for the RP :) :) It was a lot of fun. :)" Zach smiles. "My father's legacy to me is a certaing creativity and gift for music and tinkering. Next time I'll bring my guitar, then we can jam some more." He rises. "Walk in song, Hachilah my friend." Zach says, "Likewise! This was cool! :)" Hachilah grins and tilts her head respectfully. She waves and does a little half twirl, swinging her bucket absently as she wanders off. She doesn't get far before she can be heard humming quietly to herself. Zach watches her leave with the strangest look of wonder in his eyes. A tear slowly forming. The End...
