Zach comes walking down Oak and seems to be deep in his own thought. As he passes, you can hear him humming soflty. He doesn't notice the crowd of friendly faces... Ada mutters to Hachilah, "... excuse... for..." Roger glances at Ada "How did you manage to crack your back? Hachilah, momentarily distracted, looks at Ada and nods readily. Ada says, "Tell you in a second." Ada straightens out, slinking off behind Zach and creeping up on him. Roger nods Zach is humming along completely oblivious to the rest of the world. Hachilah watches, finally notices Zach, and her eyebrows go up... an expression of pleasant surprise. Roger follows Ada and grins as he watches her creep up behing the humming Zach Ada grins toothily and adopts a very cartoonish "sneaking up on him!" gait. Tiptoes, raised arms, hunched back, clawed fingers, the works. Ada pounces! catching Zach around the neck and waist. "RRRRrrr!" Hachilah giggles and claps her hands with delicate glee. Zach jumps! He whirls around almost impossibly fast grabbing Ada, pacifying her, then stops, blinks in surprise and proceeeds to kiss her while still constraining her. Roger blinks and then laughs out loud at the expression on Zach's face. He raises an eyebrow amusedly as Zack kisses the woman. Ada eeps! but does not resist. Hachilah smiles and simply watches the exchange. Zach releases Ada and hugs her. "Jesus woman! You scared the shit outta me!" HE grins and /finally/ notices the other two over her shoulder. "Oh hi!" Hachilah waves and smiles. Roger grins at Zach "Wouldn't want to spoil your good time." Zach drags Ada along toward the steps. "So you were just gonna let me walk right past?" He smiles. "How are y'all?" Roger smiles "I'm good." He glances over at Ada "Sorry, I had to leave our little gathering early a few nights ago. Hachilah smiles. "I'm very well, thanks." Ada nods. "It's okay. No worries." Ada drops to the ground and walks alongside Zach as they near the steps. Zach kisses the side of Ada's head. "Sooo... Are we just gonna cool around on this here step or shall we go make some ducks happy and fat?" Roger stands "I say that we go make some ducks happy. Ada says, "Mm. Fat ducks..." Hachilah looks at Roger, following with her eyes as he stands. She glances at Zach and smiles. "I don't have a preference. However. I've nothing with which to make fat ducks..." Zach grins. "Oh, we'll just buy some loaf and stuff on our way to the park." Hachilah grins. "Ok." She stands up. Roger sticks his hands in his pockets and grins "Lead the way. Huron Park Walkways lead through a large, well-manicured lawn of grass, dotted with trees and small monuments. As if the huge, carved stone sign labeling this 'Huron Indian Cemetary' didn't give a clue that this was not the local pauper's graveyard, the fact that many markers have U.S. Department of the Interior or Bureau of Indian Affairs plaques attached might provide that hint. At one end of the park, near to the civic buildings, a rose garden is beautifully maintained, with sufficient surfaces for purchasing that many come here during the lunchtime hour to recuperate from the hustle and bustle. A recent renovation, dated August of 2000, is a series of plaques at the edge of the rose garden, detailing the entire history of the park and burial grounds. Roger glances around the park "I wonder why I never come here that often, it's a nice park. Lot of history. Zach nods. "It's beautiful here. I sometimes come here to just sit among the roses." Ada has arrived. Roger pauses to read one of the plaques. Ada says, "Oh... *this* park." Hachilah wanders along, distracted every so often by some thing or other. She often finds herself lagging behind the group, but she always runs to catch up. Zach looks around. "Lessee.... Bench - check. Pond - check. Ducks - check. Oh look! Swans! Come on!" He walks over to the duckpond and floomps down on a bench. Ada perches on the back of the bench. Hachilah raises an eyebrow and wanders over to the water, watching the swans. Roger wanders over to Zach "Here give some of that bread. Ada reaches over and ruffles Hachilah's hair. Zach happily shares bread around to all so they can start pelting it at the birds. Roger rolls the bread in his hands and tosses to a small clutster of ducks. Sevral dozen more instantly appear out of the ather. Zach follows suit after having looked whistfylly after Ada as she left for parts unknown. Hachilah takes a chunk of bread, with a smile, and begins tossing bread. Roger leans against the bench and glances around "So, what happened after I left? Hachilah looks back at Roger, then glances at Zach. The ducks are restless tonight and scuffles immediately break out over the bread. There seems to be a lot more ducks in the pond than they first thought.... Hachilah looks back at the scuffling ducks and gingerly steps back, wary. Zach looks over at the other two. "Not much, unfortunately. I kept pushing her a bit, but she kept evading and playing innocent. And then Ada came over and I had to let it go." Zach looks frustrated. Roger frowns "Were you able to read her? Hachilah keeps on moving backward, away from the ducks. She turns fully and wanders to the bench, casting a final glance at the ducks. Zach nods. "I was indeed. She's dark of heart like Hachi said. Very dark." Zach keeps throwing bread to the hordes of savage ducks. Roger nods slowly as he shivers in the hot sun. Quackquackquack..QUACK!! quacknibblenibbleQUACK! Hachilah nods in grim agreement. "You aren't certain that she is a demon." She jumps at the loud duck noises. Hachilah looks at the noisy ducks. Roger tosses some more bread to the ducks Roger looks over at Zach "Is she a demon? Zach sighs. "No, I can't be a hundred percent sure, but she has the possibility for rather low depths and high tops of spirit. So I'm quite certain she's at /least/ a Hellsworn. You say, "And frankly, a Hellsworn so young..." Zach sighs. "...is very rare." Roger slowly pulls off more bread and fiddles with it "What is her potental then? Hachilah nods sagely. "I wasn't able to read her..." She winces slightly as she looks at Roger. "However. I shall try again." She looks at Zach. "And, of the two of us. Perhaps I am most capable of determing the Truth of the matter, hellsworn, Demon, or... simply a bad girl." Zach shrugs and tosses bread at the birds. "She can become either very bright or very dark. I don't get spesific careers.." He nods at Hachi. "You're the expert. Unless we can get hold of some of Yves' guys..." He smiles. Roger blinks "Who's Yves? Zach huhs at Roger. "Oh.. Abner didn't tell you all the Archangels? Yves is Destiny." Hachilah looks thoughtful for a moment as Zach and Roger converse. "There was a servant of Destiny in town a number of weeks ago." She looks at Zach. "Actually, the professor of which we spoke on the night that we first met. But, I haven't seen him lately." Roger thinks for a minute "Yeah I think he mentioned him." He looks over the duck pond with a sigh, his mind clearly elsewhere. Zach looks at Hachilah with little or no comprehension. "The guy that was mean to you??" Hachilah hrms. "Yes. He was rather ill-tempered, almost... malignant. I was concerned, naturally, about him, so I referred him to a Servant of Judgement for psychological assistance." She shakes her head a bit and shrugs. "I haven't seen him since." Hachilah smiles innocently. The feral ducks quack, scuffle and flutter about each other to get at the bread. Now the regal, white swans are taking an interest and come gliding along. Roger absently tosses more bread at the ducks. Hachilah retreats further from the ducks, and gives her remaining bread back to Zach. She takes a seat on the bench and watches Roger feed those noisy ducks. :) Zach boggles at Hachi. "Man... But Destiny's lot are /nice/! Geez.. I hope they managed to sort him out..." Shakes his head. "Anyway. Traci. She's not completely without hope. There are traces of honor in her, but I'm not sure if they are enough.." Zach puts an arm around Hachi to protect her from the DuckHorde. Roger turns to Zach looking hopeful "How do you know if their enough." He looks down at his lap and sighs admiting "I really don't want to see her killed I guess. Hachilah's expression brightens somewhat at Zach's words, and she happily slides closer to Zach. Hachilah glances sharply at Roger, then looks up at Zach. You say, "Well, she has some principles about being brave, not lying to 'friends' and keeping promises.." Roger smiles slightly "Well that's something at least." Hachilah looks a bit confused. She appears very thoughtful, but says nothing. Zach frowns. "But her most honorable deeds lately, according to her own codes, were seducing you, taking along a friend from school to that frat party so she could be the entertainment - that was /deliberate/, and posing for a japanese porn mag." Roger drops his eyes and shiver "That is bad, that's horrible." Hachilah continues to look ponderful. She looks at Roger. "Did you make love to Traci against your will?" Hachilah regards Roger curiously. Zach nods grimly to Roger. "Yes it is bad. It makes me sick." Roger turns his eyes to Hachilah and shakes his head "Oh no I went willingly, more then willingly. Zach tilts his head at Hachilah's question, then looks pained at Roger's answer. You say, "And all the while you thought... You felt that is was wrong to do so..." Roger looks away "Yes, I know it's illegal and wrong to sleep with a 15 year old even if she's willing." He sighs "But I still did it." Hachilah looks a bit baffled by the response, she looks at Zach as he speaks, then at Roger. "If you felt it was wrong... why did you do it?" Roger looks away, his eyes dark "Because she wanted me to and because she was pretty and because I was horny...." Hachilah blinks a bit. Zach looks down on Hach. "Horny is slang for lusting." Roger looks down at Hachilah, and smiles slightly, "What angels dont get horny? You say, "Has nothing to do with cattle unless you're really sick..." Zach says, "Yay for unexperienced seraphim! :)" Hachilah ahs. She looks back at Roger. Her eyebrows peak, and she looks a bit shocked. Hachilah <:P Roger chuckles dryly at Hachilah's expression "I'll take that as a no then." He rubs his forehead tiredly "What's really sad is the fact that I went back sevral times." Zach has to chuckle. "Of course we do. Well some of us at least. But not, I think, like humans. It doesn't cloud our minds." Roger says, "It wasn't just a one time thing." Roger glances at Zach "Well lucky you." Zach grows serious again. "Lust's servitors are powerful. They corrupt subtly and catch you in their sweet nets of honeyd pleasures and desires." Roger shivers again "honeyed pleasures is right. She was very good in bed, knew how to make it feel the best." He licks his lips slightly and opens his mouth to say something else but then looks away, embarressed." Zach lays hand on Roger's arm. "Yes?" Hachilah blinks a bit. She listens to Roger's testimony with a kind of incomprehending expression. Roger seems to flinch slightly at Zach's touch "You know what the worst thing is. It's that even though I know, I *know* that she's serving Hell in someway, I still want her. God, what she can do with her hands and mouth and body..." He trails off with with sigh. Zach squeezes Roger's arm a bit. "Yes... I suspect that she is an impudite. They are extremely good at ensnaring humans. Lust himself is of that Band. They will charm you in ways that go far beyond normal. They /make/ you like them and want them and trust them." Roger nods, his eyes still on his lap "I know, you've told me that before. I just don't know if it helps." Zach rips out some more chunks of bread and toss to the ducks. "I need to pacify her quickly before she does any more damage. She will get har chance to redeem and if she won't take it, I'll have to slay her." Hachilah tilts her head to the side, regarding Roger with extreme interest. She glances at Zach. "How will you pacify her?" Roger winces slightly and glances over at Hachilah "Is that the normal procedure?" You say, "I will pacify her by either getting her to redeem or by killing her." Hachilah blinks. "Is redemption such an immediate process?" Roger says, "What do you think of her chances on redeeming?" Zach sighs. "No it's not. But she will have to make the choice quickly. I will not let her run around messing up any more people's lives. If she wishes to redeem I'll set her up with Trade's people for protection." You say, "But I fear the chances are slim..." Hachilah's expression darkens. "Do you know the Songs of Charm?" She looks up at Zach. Roger says slowly "She did seem to enjoy it, she liked seducing me. I don't think thats the actions of someone who wants to be an angel. But then, what do I know." Zach turns to Roger. "And for the record Roger - I'm a /very/ relaxed and laid-back malakite. Normal procedure whe dealing with demons is kill them on sight if at all possible. Most of us don't bother to offer redemtion first." He shakes his head to Hachilah. "No, I don't know any of those." Roger says, "What are the Songs of Charm?" Hachilah hrms. She looks at Roger. "They may be used to subdue a target." Roger says, "Oh." He leans back against the bench and sighs "Does she know that you two are Angels?" Hachilah looks at Zach. "I know the Celestial and Ethereal variants. I may be of assistance." Her expression is dark and somewhat disturbed. Hachilah looks at Roger and shakes her head. "No, I haven't revealed myself to her." Zach strokes Hachilah's hair and sighs. "She should know me for one by now, I think." Zach thinks for a bit. "Hachilah... What is it excactly you are offering? Are you offering to come along on a demon hunt with me? Would your Lady approve of that?" He looks concerned. Hachilah leans into Zach. She is clearly conflicted. "I. Am offering assistance." She pauses. She sighs heavily and adds, in a low tone, "...and if I am _with_ you I may be able to help you achieve a peaceful solution." Clearly, her motive is revealed. Roger straightens up, his face hardinging "May I go along with you Zach, on this hunt." Zach frowns at Roger. "Hm. I am reluctant about that." Roger frowns back "Why not? Am I not a Solider of God?" Hachilah regards Roger curiously. You say, "Yes you are. And I am /very/ reluctant about putting you in danger like that. We don't use Soldiers to fight demons. We use you to fight Hellsworn. Besides, it would be a bit dodgy of me to poach on Sword's people..." Roger raises an eyebrow "So, can you this alone. Hachilah looks at Zach. Roger stands and looks down at them "Look, I need to take a walk and clear my head. I'll see you two around ok." Zach nods. "Probably. Unless she is insanely tough. And given her activities, I don't think so. She didn't follow her friends to the Paintball place out of fear. Whatever that was all about..." Hachilah glances curiously at Roger. She thinks for a bit, then nods. "Ok. See you around, Roger." She waves, looking a bit distracted. Roger nods "I'll be seeing you. Zach rises and clasps Roger's shoulder. "Ok. We'll talk more later. THere are things we need to consider." Zach sits down again and sighs heavily. "Demon hunts used to be easier in the old days.." Zach hugs Hachilah. Hachilah is somewhat surprised by the hug, but she quickly adapts and hugs back. Hachilah looks up at Zach. She has a grim expression. "Oh?" You say, "How old are you Hachi?" Hachilah blinks a bit, at the change of topic. "Me? I'm... somewhere between 20 or 30 years old... Why do you ask, Zach?" Zach smiles a bit. "My ulterior motive is that I wanted to know exactly how experienced you might be. I've roamed this earth for almost 200 years now. I'm no rocket scientist, but I have learned a few things." He looks sheepish all of a sudden. "Sorry. What I mean to say is that I am not the smartest angel around, but I do have some experience. And I have learned from a few mistakes. Hunting demons these days are more difficult because of modern technology, media and science." OOC: Zach is clearly dusting off his old Knowledge: Seraphim skill:) Hachilah raises an eyebrow. Her expression darkens further, and she glances at Zach. "You truly do... hunt and destroy...and the demons...you destroy?" She looks away, shaking her head slightly. She looks back. "It's horrible to think about." Zach turns a very serious gaze at her. "It is even more horrible to think about, not to mention look at, the damage that demons do when left alone. Most of them would never consider turning to the Light. Sad fact, but there it is. It is part of my Sacred duty to weed out demons wherever and whenever I find traces of their activities." You say, "Demons drag human souls to /Hell/. And angels as well sometimes." Zach sighs. "Unfortunately demons are every bit as hard to get rid of permanently as us. Slaying their vessels is mostly not permanent. They tend to return after a while." Hachilah stares back at Zach, unflinching. "Yes, I've been educated in the... corrosive nature of demons, upon the Symphony... their rejection of God and Heaven... it simply doesn't make sense." She shakes her head a bit. "It never has." She chews her bottom lip a bit, then adds, "My father indicated that corporeal duty would give me context for understanding these... concepts." She looks at Zach. "Arethas, I just... don't understand." From afar, Hachilah is extremely young, it can be annoying. <:) Zach smiles sadly to her and strokes her cheek gently. "Me neither. But I know enough of the facts to see some signs and act accordingly." Long distance to Hachilah: Zach thinks this is fabulous! It's great rp! :) Hachilah pages: Oh! Good! :) :) You say, "The Boss also gave me other duties. Doing good for mankind by being close to humans is just as important as smacking demons." Zach sighs. "That's why I didn't follow Traci when she left. Ada was more importent there and then. At least I hope that was right... Hachilah turns her head slightly, leaning into Zach's hand. She looks up at him. "Your job is a difficult one, and one that I... do not envy you." Zach smiles and kisses her forehead. "It's who I am, kiddo. I prefer loving over fighting, but sometimes a 'kite's gotta do what a 'kite's gotta do, yaknow. I am bound by my Oaths just like you are bound by Truth. And none of us would have it any other way." Hachilah smiles slightly at the kiss, looking up at Zach with an affectionate expression. She grows thoughtful, and asks. "Have you ever... helped someone redeem? Or... was it all..." She trails off, shuddering a bit. You say, "I may have put one or two on that path, but... I dunno if they ever made it. Mostly I have killed them, unless ordered not to." Hachilah blinks a bit, her expression becoming grimmer by the second. "I see." Hachilah looks back into Zach's eyes. "I want to help." Zach drags her close to offer some comfort. "I mostly worked with angels from other Words. Lightning, Trade, the Wind... I have never taken up hunting as a job. I'm a mechanic, a support angel. I travel the world and help out where I can. And sometimes demons get in my way. Fact of life." He kisses her nose. "If you want to help, you will be most welcome little sister. But it is grim work." Long distance to Hachilah: Zach resonates to see if Hachilah is offering something that is dishonorable to her. Just to be sure.... Hurting young angels is /not/ part of his job description! AutoJudge: Zach rolls: 5 + 4 = 9 . Check die: 6 You paged Hachilah with 'Nevermind...:)'. Hachilah's forehead creases into a look of intense dismay. "I can't just stand by idly, knowing that you are going to destroy her." She glances at Zach. "I have many talents, I may be able to help you achieve a peaceful resolution." Zach nods. "Yes, and I appreachiate that. Just be aware that addling her brain is not going to bring her to the Light. She has to make that choice fully conciously." He smiles. "But we must give her the chance, so we'll talk first." Hachilah nods and snuggles. You say, "Just tell me one thing, honey. Is there anything in you that tell you that it's wrong to go with me on this...hunt? You should not go against your honor.." Hachilah looks up at Zach. She considers his words, then responds, "I would not sit idle. Not when I might be able to help. I am sick at heart to know what may happen, but I...", she leans up ward and kisses Zach on the cheek, "... trust you to do what is Right. How can I be dishonourable with a Virtue as my guide?" She smiles slightly. Zach chuckles warmly. "Well thank you. Now I have better live up to that!" Hachilah smiles a bit more widely. "You will." She tickles under Zach's chin. You say, "Now for planning... I am honor bound to protect you in this. I have..." Zach aghs at being tickeled and tickles back! Hachilah grins and jumps, giggling quietly. You say, "Oh behave!" Zach grins. Hachilah raises an eyebrow in an expression of amused defiance. Hachilah says, "I am behaving." Hachilah grins. Zach feigns annoyance obviously enough that even a young seraph can see it. "Oh don't you get all pedantic on me, missy!" Hachilah tickles again! "I cannot suppress it, it is my nature to be pedantic. And you find it amusing, do not try to deny it." Her eyes are near twinkling again. Zach squrms and laughs. "Oh have mercy on me! I'm an old geezer. Show some respect for pity's sake!" You say, "If you don't go easy on me I shall be forced to refer to you as "Most Holy" at all times from now on." Zach grins. "And there will be much bowing ans scraping, and you will be very much In Command." Hachilah giggles and ceases her attack. "Very well, very well. I shall be merciful." She takes a look at Zach, then collapses onto his chest, hugging tightly. "I can't have you trailing after me like a one-man entourage. That would draw attention, at the very least." Zach lazily embraces the little seraph. "Yes it would." Hachilah snuggles. "You are an unusual Malakite." Zach holds Hachilah tight. "I..." He clears his throat. Funny how it just got all tight and stuff... Hachilah glances up curiously, looking into Zach's eyes. Hachilah says, "You...?" Zach clears his throat again. "I...was wondering... Um.. Do you know... Did the Boss say anything about why.. Eh. How come you got /this/ vessel?" Zach looks a bit uncomfortable. Hachilah raises an eyebrow. "I was told that it would suit me. Nothing more." She pauses. "Do I resemble your Seraph, Neah?" Zach nods quietly. "Yes. Down to every last detail. Only... Your vessel looks about 15 years younger." He swallows. "And.... She died in 1977..." Hachilah gets a very dismayed look, regarding Zach with intense sadness. She hugs more tightly. "How awful." Zach just holds Hachilah tight. And the two angels just sit quietly watching the night unfold... The End...
