Crown Royale Leatherwear -- Storefront Zach shuffles inside and looks around. Sarah is dressed for the warm weather. Tight white shorts cling to her legs and rear, short enough to expose almost all of her leg to the sun. On top she is dressed in sleeveless yellow tank top that's cut short to expose her midriff. From the lack of straps and the way the top hangs it's quite clear that she is not wearing a bra. It's about 6:30 and Sarah is just starting to close up. The store is empty except for her and she is busy couting the days take. As the door opens she looks up "I'm sorry, we're...oh Zach." She smiles at him "Good to see you. Zach smiles broadly. "Good afternoon, beautiful. How are you on this warm and wonderful day?" Sarah grins "It just got a lot better now." She comes around the counter "How are you doing? You say, "Me? I'm fine. Excellent! I just spent most of the day lazing away in the park, being a real bum!" Sarah chuckles "Sounds fun. I had to work, of course this means that I can take tommorow off." She grins "It's nice being the boss." Zach grins and glides up to lean on the counter next to Sarah. "Yeah, it is. I was lucky enough that none of those who have my phone number crashed their cars today." Sarah glances up at the time "Hey you interested in dinner or something tonight?" Zach smiles. "I was just gonna ask the very same question!" You say, "So i guess that means 'yes'." Sarah waggles her eyebrows at him "I guess we're on the same wave length." Zach lifts an eyebrow and grins. "This may very well be the case." Sarah says, "What are you in the mood for?"" You say, "Hm.. I dunno. What sorta food do /you/ fancy today?" Sarah thinks "How about BBQ? Zach inclines his head. "BBQ is always nice. Where to? You say, "Rosemont?" Sarah thinks "There's the place just down the street. Zach smiles. "Ok, lead on!" B.J.'s Lawnside B-B-Q -- Dining Room and Stage Sarah glances around and says over the noise "Have you been here before? Zach nods. "Yeah, I have. First time I met Hachilah was here." Sarah grins "Ah cool." She twists around and peers at the menu "So, how do ribs sound to you?" Zach eyes the menu. "I think ribs sound very nice! Ribs and a cold beer!" Zach gets the attention of a waiter to tell him this. Sarah grins "Yeah, that sounds great." She leans back in her chair "I should have you over for dinner sometime." The waiter takes note of what he gets told and will present them with the desiered foods and drinks shortly. Sarah smiles at the waiter and thanks him Zach smiles. "Hmm.. Sounds tempting. You a good cook?" His eyes sparkle. Sarah nods "I can, I'm no chief or anything but I can whip up a meal. Tell me, whats you're favorite dinner?" Zach considers as he leans back on his chair and stretches his legs. "Oohh... Difficult one. I like lots of food, so my favourite is usually the one I'm having at the time." He thinks. "I am particular to oriental foods though. Chineze, thai..." Sarah nods "There's a nice chinese place in the Board of Trade, ever been there? Zach shakes his head. "No I haven't. It's kinda posh ain't it?" Sarah nods "Yeah, but what do you expect when you serve stockbrokers. Zach smiles a bit. "I'm not so comfy with posh. Makes me edgy for some reason, even if the people are nice." You say, "Formal is /not/ my thing." Sarah chuckles "I like it sometimes. It's fun to get dressed up." Sarah glances down at her shorts "I'd probably get some strange looks if I went in there now. Zach shifts and smiles a bit. "Yeah, I guess. It's fun for you girls to get all dressed up, but us blokes.. We get those boring suits, and those thrice bedamned neckties or bowties." Sarah looks him up and down "Hey I think you'd look nice in a tux. Zach fakes a shiver. "I try to avoid being trapped in one of those." He grins. Sarah chuckles and reach across the table to pat Zach's hand "It's ok, how about a suit?" Zach grumbles. "Not if I can avoid it. I prefer jeans and t-shirts. Or leather pants and jackets. Suits are for stiffs and squares." Sarah's smile grows wider "I take it you like my leather pants then. Zach smiles warmly. "Why yes I do! That was a very good buy. Haven't had leather pants in a coupla years." Sarah taps her chin "Now we have to get you in a nice leather jacket. Zach grins. "Oh, but I have one of those. Don't use it much when it's so hot though. Straight, black biker jacket. Had it for years." You say, "That's whats so great about leather. It lasts and lasts if you treat it properly." Sarah says, "Ah, I hope that I see it more in the winter." Her hand is still on top of Zach and she slightly runs her thumb over his knuckles." Zach smiles fondly. "Sure you will!" He takes a drink from his glass of water. "So how's life treating ya lately? Lots of work?" Sarah nods "I'm afraid so. You would think that sales of leather would be down in the summer, but you'd be suprised. Zach shrugs. "Well it seems to me that leatherwear is just becoming more and more popular. Even outside the usual groups of enthusiasts." Sarah chuckles "Yeah, those enthusiasts make up a good portion of my buissess, but I defentily get just the people off the street who like leather jackets and stuff. The waiter meanders over to their table carrying ribs and drinks. This gets deposited in front of Sarah and Zach, and he then withdraws while wishing them bon apetite. Sarah looks pleased as their food and drinks arive. She opens her beer and takes along drink "So, hows it going in your life?" Zach nods a thank you to the waiter, then turns his focus back on Sarah. "I'll bet. You've set up shop in a nice part of town too." He smiles. "My life is very good, thank you. I'm settling in in KC, and getting to know a few people. 'S all good." Zach attacks his rib with the weapons at hand. In between chewing he adds: "Frankly I'm amazed at how fast I've been getting enough work to pay my way." Sarah smiles "That;s good to know. Still living in your truck?" Zach nods. "Yah. When I'm not crashing overat Ada and Hahilah's." He smiles and sighs. "I try not to wear out my welcome, so I'd better get my ass moving on the room thing." Sarah nods "You can comecrash on my couch too you know" Hachilah multipages (Sarah Zach): Hey. Are you guys having a private party? :) Zach smiles across the table. "Hey, that's sweet. Do you invite any stranger who walks infrom the street to buy your stuff? Or is it just the ones who go for the red leather pants?" The merry sparkle in his eyes defuses any kind of reproachfullness that his words might have conveyed alone. You paged (Sarah, Hachilah) with 'No, it's a public place, innit? :)'. Hachilah multipages (Sarah Zach): Hachilah nods :) From afar, Hachilah feels like a Djinn, stalking you guys like this. :) Long distance to Hachilah: Zach knows how to deal with djinn! >:) Hachilah enters from the lot. Sarah chuckles "Well buying the red leather pants helps a lot. But hey you're not a stranger." Zach twinkles at her. "This bodes well. You should be careful to make such offers, I am the type to take you up on 'em." Hachilah wanders in, grooving to the live Blues music. She takes a place in the food line-up, looking around at the well-developed crowd. Sarah gives his hand a squeeze "Hey that's why I made the offer." Zach looks up and spots Hachilah. At your table, Zach squeezes Sarah's hand back. "Thanks.. Oh. Hey, there's HAchilah!" Hachilah grooves all the way to the kitchen window, where she orders something. The waiter fellow gives her a knowing smile and passes over a steaming mug. Zach says something to Sarah and points in Hachila's direction with a grin. Sarah turns around "Hey you're right." She waves to Hachilah." Zach waves too and grins. Hachilah smiles at the guy, and turns to make her way to the cashier. Ever perceptive, she seems to catch the waving out of the corner of her eye. Her expression brightens immediately, and she nearly knocks over her coffee to return an exuberant wave. Zach sees this and chuckles. At your table, Zach says "Man I just love that girl!" Hachilah quickly pays for her hot drink, and wanders over to Zach and Sarah. At your table, Zach says "She's so spontaneous and so...I dunno - innocent." Zach pushes out a chair for Hachilah with his foot. "Come, sit down!" Hachilah puts her tray on the table, and gladly takes the offered seat. At your table, Hachilah says "Hello!" Hachilah hugs Zach rather affectionately. Zach hugs Hachilah back with a big grin. "How's my girl?" Sarah chuckles and smiles up at Hachilah "Hey there, hows it going?" Hachilah pats Zach on the belly and straightens up, perched elegantly on her chair. "I'm very well, thank-you." Her eyes sparkle. "I had a wonderful session with the Salvation Army orchestra today. How are you two doing?" Zach smiles a warm, happy smile. "We were just agreeing on being good and fine. Ain't that right, hon?" He looks over at Sarah. Sarah smiles "I'm having a good time." She flashes a smiles at Zach and takes another swollow of her beer BJ's is really swinging tonight, riding on a swell of truly excellent blues music and a happy crowd. You say, "I spent most of today bumming around in the parks with my guitar. And feeding ducks." Hachilah picks up her mug and sips, sitting back and nodding softly to the rhythm of the band. "Yes. Fat ducks are happy. And. You like happy ducks." She smiles, then gets a hesitant look. She glances from Zach to Sarah and back to Zach. "I hope that... I'm not interrupting anything?" Sarah shakes her head "Of course not. Please join us. Zach smiles to Hachilah. "There's always room for you, sweetie. Do ya want something to eat?" Hachilah sips her coffee and smilingly pokes Zach. "Nope. I'm not hungry. Thanks anyway." She glances over at the band and waves. The bassist gives her a mellow nod and indulgent smile. "I mostly... come here for the music." She winks at Zach, and takes another sip of coffee. Zach chuckles. "Do you know the guys in the band?" Sarah glances up at the stage and smiles "They're good I admit." Hachilah grins and nods. "I met the bassist, Eric, here... we got into a conversation about the construction of stringed instruments." She glances back over at the band. "The rhythm guitarist is... _quite_ talented." Zach quirks an eyebrow. "Yeah?" He smiles teasingly. Hachilah grins widely at Zach, then glances at Sarah. "How's the leather business, Sarah?" Sarah chuckles "It's pretty good. Fairly busy suprisingly. How about you? Sarah needs to take off. Zach says, "Aww.." Sarah says, "off to see a movie with my BF :)" Hachilah shrugs and sips. "I seem to be doing rather well. Tourism is good for the bucket." Hachilah says, "Oh! Which movie?" Zach says, "HAve fun!" Sarah waves "Later!! Hachilah says, "Bye@" Zach watches with bemusement at Sarah's beeper goes off and has her running for the door. You say, "I wonder what that was all about.." Hachilah tilts her head to the side and watches with placid curiousity. "A leather emergency, perhaps?" Zach chuckles. "Perhaps. You wanna finish her ribs or don't you eat at all?" Hachilah gives the ribs a cursory glance, then waves her hand dismissively. "I... don't enjoy the texture of animal flesh... and it's very messy." She looks at Zach and gives him a knowing smile. "There's no reason for them to go to waste, naturally." Zach chuckles at her. "Messy?? But that's part of the fun with ribs! It's food you get to touch with your fingers without being looked at funny." Hachilah's nose crinkles slightly. "There is the matter of sticky fingers and having to clean them off... napkins are so inferior for that purpose. And licking one's fingers is... well... it's rather undignified. It just feels... wrong." She takes another sip of coffee. Zach mutters something. The words 'straights' and 'seraphs' can be heard. He shakes his head and grins. "Well, suit yourself sweet. Do you have any plans for the evening then?" Hachilah smiles and shakes her head happily. "Nope. Just wandering... I followed the music here... I was considering visiting the shelter for the evening, but there aren't any pressing concerns there." She sits back a smidge more, looking almost relaxed. She looks back at Zach. "What about you? Fixing someone's truck tonight? Got a date?" She grins and sips. Zach shakes his head and chews a bit of meat. "Nope, and nope. My 'date' just got beeped." Zach pointedly licks his fingers. His eyes are sparkling teasingly. You say, "Say, how did it go with Roge after I left the other night? And Ada?" Hachilah raises an eyebrow. She rolls her eyes slightly and grins, in typical teenager-style. Her expression gets a bit more serious though, when the topic of Ada comes up. "Hrm." She takes a sip of coffee, looking mildly troubled. "Roger went for coffee without me. I stayed with Ada." She sighs. Hachilah adds, "Ada is complex." Zach creases his brow in concern. "Yes, I've gathered that much. Is something bothering her these days?"? Hachilah sits back miserably and puts her mug on the table. "Yes, something is bothering her. That much is obvious. She isn't inclined to share, however. It's very unusual." Zach runs a hand through his hair. "Hmm.. How long has she been like this? So easily upset and fragile?" Hachilah looks thoughtful. "It's a very recent thing." She gets a pained look. "She has always been fairly... introverted, but she used to talk to me about things. Now... it's like she's shut me out. I can't... reach her? It started... well. Perhaps a couple of weeks ago..." Zach frowns. "Shit. I hope it's not got anything to do with me... That would be bad." Hachilah glances thoughtfully at Zach. "I took... a leave of absence...for awhile. Went back home, you know?" She looks kind of guilty about this, but she continues. "I visited Ada periodically, and... she seemed very lonely. I advised her to seek a companion. I thought it would help." Zach frowns a bit more while he thinks. "I went home with her for the first time about two weeks ago. Maybe a little bit more... She insisted that she was fine with dating two people, but maybe she really isn't deep in her heart." Zach chews his lip. "She did... Or rather she did not tell me about you until after she'd decided that she wanted me, though. Maybe that's bothering her. But that shouldn't be enough to make her so... Out of it..?" You say, "It's times like these I'd be happy to have one of the baldys around." Hachilah smiles, then gives Zach a thoughtful look. She sits up and recovers her mug, holding it in both hands. She takes a sip. "I have often explained that she needn't remain monogamous with me. However." She gives Zach another look and continues, almost reluctantly, "In a recent discussion, she revealed that she had experienced jealous feelings regarding my relationships with other people." She gives Zach a meaningful nod, and sips again. Zach sighs. "Shit." Hachilah adds, "And, in this case, I'd advise that one of the Friends of Man might make a better consultant." She grins and sips. You say, "Yah, maybe. Do you know if there are anyone in town?" Hachilah tilts her head to the side. "Yep. There is one of which I am aware... but I haven't seen him lately... he is called Henry. He works at the hospital as a paramedic. He's been very hard to contact, in my experience." Zach mutters and drinks his beer. "Oh hell, who needs baldies and intercessionits anyway. Even I have enough wits to understand that Ada's afraid of being left." Hachilah glances at Zach and blinks. "I beg your pardon?" You say, "She has no friends here part from you and me, she never knew her mama, her dad was loving but busy working. And now he's in Finland far, far away. No people staing in her life. No steady support. So she's needy, she wants attention, she wants intimacy and she is deadly frightened of losing it. Thus getting jealous." Zach sighs heavily. "It's just that... I'm like the worst possible guy to help her out with that. I'm a vagabond for pete's sake. She needs a cherub..." Hachilah's eyes widen slightly and she seems intrigued. She gets a pained look again. "And I am... more or less... unreliable..." She winces. "You'd think that... with two angels looking out for her... we ought to be able to help her out." She sighs. Hachilah says, "...not make things worse." Zach looks pained too and slightly guilty. "Yeah. This sucks." Hachilah hrms and considers the situation with grave concentration. Hachilah says, "I suggested getting a kitten." Zach grumbles. "We creationists aren't exactly famous for great stability, monogamy or... Well we're not therapists. Flowers are better at at that. So... You're probably a better choice than me. Or a kitten.." He smiles a bit, sadly. Rayne enters from the lot. Rayne has arrived. Hachilah smiles gently at Zach. She leans forward to pat his hand, unmindful of any stickiness that might exist there. She says something to him. At your table, Hachilah says "She does seem to be rather fond of you." At your table, Zach says "Yeah, but if I go 'round hurting her by being me..." The crowd is fairly well-developed, though growing restless, as the band has been on a break for the past 15 minutes. Zach shakes his head and looks a bit deflated. You see a short, muscular teenaged man. His hair is bleached and short, and his skin is pasty. His sunken green eyes search the world. He's wearing a ill-fitting red sweater, along with tight navy blue pants and white cross-training shoes. In general, he seems jumpy. Hachilah puts her other hand around Zach's hand, cupping it gently. She tilts her head to the side and says something to him. Rayne walks in off the street and looks around. He seems a bit disappointed at the lack of a live band, but he then turns his attention to looking for a seat. He makes his way through the crowd, trying to pick one of the relatively few empty seats. At your table, Hachilah says "We must treat the source of the problem. You, are wonderful, and are most definitely not the source of this pain. Perhaps it is as you say. Perhaps she is afraid of abandonment. Where... do we start? To overcome this?" Hachilah shakes her head somewhat. Rayne just looked at you. At your table, Hachilah gently squeezes your hand. Zach squeezes Hachilah's hand and sighs visibly. There is a free seat at Hach and Zach's table, one of the few remaining. At your table, Zach says "I have no idea..." At your table, Zach says "She needs someone more stable around than a part-time windy.." Hachilah looks quite thoughtful. Rayne gets over to Hachilah and Zach. He leans down to ask them, "Hey, you guys mind if I sit with you? There aren't a lot of empty seats to go around." He looks at both of them and smiles politely. Zach looks up with a start. "Oh, yeah! Sure!" He smiles a friendly smile to the newcomer. Hachilah looks up at the newcomer, snaps out of her thoughtfulness, and smiles brightly. "Oh yes. Please join us." Zach withdraws his hand from Hachilah's almost reluctantly. Zach smiles to Rayne. "You here for the band? I'm Zach by the way." Hachilah recovers her mug and takes a sip, sitting up in her chair. She offers a hand. "And... my name is Hachilah." Rayne slides into the spare seat and keeps smiling. "Thanks. You guys seemed really into your conversation, but there just weren't a lot of places to sit." He smiles more broadly and offers his hand to Zach first, and then Hachilah. "Nice to meet you both. I'm Rayne." He pronounces it like "rain." He explains, "Yeah, I came for the band. Are they going to start back up soon?" Hachilah glances at the band, who are still at the bar chatting with some of the patrons there. "Hrm. They have been on a break for awhile." Zach nods. "Should be back in a few minutes, I think." Zach smiles and follows Hachilah's glance. "They are quite good, so you're in for a treat I'd say." Hachilah smiles in agreement, still watchng the band. Her eyebrows go up, as she adds, "I believe that they are returning to the stage now..." Zach stretches his long legs and sighs. "I on the other hand will not get anymore treats tonight. I gotta split. Have fun, guys!" Rayne raises a hand as goodbye to Zach. "Nice meeting you. See you around sometime, I imagine." Hachilah watches Zach get up and go with a kind of disappointment. Hachilah waves anyhow, and manages a smile. "Later Zach!" Zach bends down an kisses Hach on her nose. "See you, sweet!" Zach nods to Rayne. "You might." You say, "Have a nice night, now!" Hachilah giggles and maneuvers a kiss onto Zach's cheek. "Bye!" Zach ambles towards the door with a final smile and wave to them. You step outside.
