Global Taekwon-do Federation (GTF) was formally founded in October 1990. The President in GTF is Grand Master Park Jung Tae - 9. Dan.

GTF is represented in 70 countries around the whole world (pr. 1. Jan 1993). The first congress for GTF was the founding-congress in Toronto, Canada - October 1990. The second congress was held in Moscow, Russia - October 1993. The third concress was held in Sardinia, Italy - May 1995.

The GTF organisation has a tree level hierarchy.

1. GTF with main seat in Toronto, Canada.
2. Regional councils. List of regions.

   All communication between the member countries and GTF comes through the regional councils.

3. National organisations.

The normal organisation structure inside each member country is:

1. The national organisation.
2. Regional senior instructors with responsibility of their own region.
3. The schools.
