Instructions
Unzipping the loaded file
click the link above, and save the file to a convenient place ( the desktop for instance). Double-click that file and choose a new directory for unpacking the files. For instance "c:\triton\newos". Press "unzip". when the files are unzipped, you may close the zip program.
If everything worked out, you should have 3 sub-directories in the c:\triton\newos folder, disk1, disk2 and disk3. Copy the CONTENTS of each of those folders into a 3.5" disk.
Loading the disks into Triton
1. insert disk#1
2a Triton: press [enter] and [locate] while powering up
2b Triton rack: press [enter] and [write] while powering up
Use only high quality formatted hd 3.5" diskettes when installing a new operating system in your triton. Although the triton have a checksum system that will not burn into flash if it finds an error with your files, there`s no point in taking chances. The triton is known to be picky about diskettes. Each operating system contains all files needed. So you can upgrade directly from, say 1.0 to 2.02 without loading intermediate systems.
The newest os
The latest software versions for triton family instruments is currently 2.1.0 (keyboard) and 1.0.2 (rack). If you have an older version, there are a number of good reasons to upgrade. New functions, improved stability, bugfixing, better compability with external scsi and new expansion cards. The difference from 2.0 to 2.0.2 and 2.0.3 isnt that big, but 2.0 was a major upgrade from earlier versions, esp. in the sampler and disk handling department.
It seems that the newest os (rack and keyboard) gives better support for cd-r drives (read only!), and faster reading of iso9660 cd-roms.
These are direct links to the files found at korg japan. I have to appologize for the bad netiquette, but that site is in japanese only, and Korg do not want the os distributed by others. Korg japan takes no responsibility for downloaders outside of japan, and neiter do I. That being said, theres no reason why you should have problems with this. Korg have a very good record of not releasing software until it is properly debugged.
