There has also been releases of 'Ulysses 31' videos and records. Here is what I have been able to find out so far.

The Videos:

The first sixteen episodes were realesaed in the UK on eight VHS Pal videotapes by RCA Colombia Pictures in the early nineties. The marketing and distribution was done by Parkfield Entertainment and it was part of series called 'The Hollywood Children's Collection'. This is actually quite strange since 'Ulysses 31' wasn't a Hollywood production. These videos are now very hard to come by, but not impossible. I bought volume 4 in a UK store as late as this spring. If you're going to try to hunt them down it might help you to know that their catalog numbers are CVT10692, CVT10693, CVT10694, CVT10750, CVT11454, CVT11455, CVT11544 and CVT11545.

There was a similar release in Autralia at the same time, but atleast the first volume had three episodes on it. I'm not sure how many episodes were released in all there, but it seems that it was about the same amount as in the UK. Quite a few tapes where also released in Sweden. This was a completely different release, dubbed in Swedish and with small trailers for other episodes at the end of each tape. The Swedish release also had different coverart.

GREAT NEWS, 'Ulysse 31' is to be rereleased in France by AK Video. The first two volumes, with four episodes each, will be available in june 1999. When all the episodes are released they'll make a box set of the volumes. The picture above is an advert from a French magazine (click on it for a bigger version). Here is a translation of the text:

"ULYSSE 31
& Nono the little robot

The TV series
Volume 1 & 2
Released in May 1999 (release moved to June, ed.)

We all know this wonderful TV series. Take part in a great trip through mythological stories. A marvelous story that combines fiction and fantasy. This cartoon portrays the earthman Ulysse, accompanied by two children and a robot. Ulysse 31 is a quiet, well-balanced, warm and deeply human man. A mysterious fireball takes his son, Telemaque. This one is offered in sacrifice to a Cyclop. The wrath of Poseidon flies into a rage and the Gods punish the humans by sending them in another dimension, Olympus, in the XXXI st century. Zeus promises the way back to Earth if Ulysse manages to reach Hades' kingdom. Ulysse wanders from adventures to adventures in this universe, avoiding as best as he can the traps set by the Gods. Will Ulysse, his son Telemaque, the robot Nono, Themis (Yumi, ed.) and all they're compagnons reach Hades' kingdom ? And what's the final test ?... Soon the rest..."

Thanks to Nicolas for the picture and the translation.

The Records:

There exists atleast three LP's and five singles containing music from or related to the series. The site 'Nostal-J' has a good section about these records, and you can also listen to the two singles 'La Chanson de Nono' and 'Le Mundial' in my multimedia section. They contain the three songs 'La Chanson de Nono', 'Le Mundial' and 'Chanson Pour Nanette' and an instrumental version of 'La Chanson de Nono'. The singles were released in France in 1981 and 'Le Mundial' was made in connection with the football World Cup.
