- Description
-
Jukebox.cgi and its companion script Juke-action.cgi implement a
Jukebox-like (surprise!) interface between Web surfers and a directory
of {sound|image|text} files. ( See a demo with
audio files )
For configuration information, read the included INSTALL file.
- Requirements
- Jukebox.cgi is written entirely in Perl, and has been successfully
tested on 4.036 and 5.000.
Of course, an HTTP server needs to be running on the system in
question.
Non-privileged users will need write access to a directory in which
CGI scripts are executable. Ask your Webmaster for details.
- Distribution Info
- The latest edition of the Jukebox.cgi package is always available
via
Anonymous FTP at ftp://http.bsd.uchicago.edu/pub/jukebox/
- Wish List and Known Bugs
-
- Proper handling of simultaneous requests
- Proper handling of tied tallys
- Automated handling of new files in $storage_dir
- Better support for multiple jukeboxs, ie without maintaining multiple seperate copies of all relevant scripts
- Contact
- I would like to thank all of my dedicated and helpful beta
testers, but I haven't got any yet.
Please address any questions or comments to the author, me.
