PERSONALITY:
Friendly, helpful, and unobtrusive. He becomes grim whenever he witnesses people being treated oppressively.

As his body is so lacking in colour, he greatly appreciates colour anywhere he sees it, and has an affinity for vivid colours. The natural bright colours produced by nature fascinate him and often lead him to distraction. His clothing also shows this feature through.

Unlike other Jedi who tend to wear a lot of black and brown, Karrju wears a crimson catsuit and deep blue robes on top. His lightsaber has a metallic blue handle and a brilliant bright purple blade.

BACKGROUND:
He comes from the planet Lorrd where the population was once enslaved for generations. At school he was an excellent student and fine sportsman. His friends used to call him 'Hoodlum' for his tendency to cover his delicate skin from the sun's rays.

Upon graduation he joined up with his widower father (his mother having died tragically during Karrju's birth). Together they roamed the space lanes, trading goods for meagre profits, until the time they took a shipment of vaporators to Tatooine.

There they were walking down a dumpy little alleyway in Mos Eisley, when a cloaked stranger suddenly reached out and grabbed the youth on his arm and said, "the Force is strong within you!" Karrju was completely taken aback, and his father was about to sock the stranger one when he removed his hood to reveal the face of Luke Skywalker!

Karrju stared back at the man. He couldn't believe that here, standing before him was a hero of the Rebellion. But what had he said to him? Surely it was not true? "(Can you believe this?)" he subtly motioned to his father. "(No)," was his father's equally concealed response.

"But that's impossible!" Karrju protested.

This brought a wry smile to the face of Skywalker, and Karrju instantly knew he had triggered some memory in the Jedi. "No it isn't," Skywalker replied, "Have you ever felt, at some time, as if a surge of energy pass through your body?"

"Yes, but..."

Skywalker continued, "then close your eyes, relax, calm yourself, be at peace and concentrate, remember what it was like. Let the Force flow through your mind and your body... There is nothing except you, and the Force..."

"I felt it!" Karrju shrieked. In that instant it felt as if he was looking through a keyhole into another world, and indeed he was. And so Karrju and his father decided to go their separate ways and Skywalker took Karrju under his wing to train him in the way of the Force.

Some years later, Karrju was in Mos Eisley and he encountered some slavers. He became so enraged that he could not control his emotions and he lashed out at the slavers with the Force. That day he came within an inch of slipping to the dark side. When Skywalker found out about this he set about helping his student to overcome his problem and contacted his friend, Han to help him take Karrju to meet a known slaver.

After counselling from Skywalker, Karrju was able to beat his problem and was then given the status of a true Jedi. At which point Han said, "I guess you're a White Knight now!"

After that, Karrju left the company of Skywalker and went to live in isolation for a period, in amongst a forest of Ch'hala trees. There he worked at improving himself, cleansing his soul and seeking further enlightenment through the Force. Recently he emerged to search for the crystals that give his lightsaber its particular colour, and now he looks for one whom he can pass on his Jedi knowledge to.
